Poured from the bottle into a Dogfish Head ale glass. No obvious bottle dating noticed.
A peach dull brown amber body, fairly opaque and cloudy appearance. Head makes a fluffy light tan and off white colored presentation and leaves a thick soapy collar with minimal lacing.
Biscuity malts, and light sweet brown sugar on the nose. Hop angle very downplayed, perhaps some citrus juice quality, but otherwise a decent malt saves this from being poor but this doesn't smell like an IPA.
Palate comes with a nice solid malt backbone. Hop angle is more obvious in taste than the nose. Juicy hop and leafy chewy pine coat the mid palate. Swallow comes with a nice bitter aromatic and hints of mild herbal tea, and pine warmth. Very coating and resiny. Some nice citrus warmth comes after some sips.
Overall not bad, perhaps just slightly better than above average. I wish the hops delivered on the nose though.

Extremely cloudy, medium copper color. Light beige foam, persistent and well-structured head.
Nose is a bit stubborn, notably hoppy (pine) with lemon tones.
Powerful hop profile up front fades somewhat to a subtle hint of caramel malt, drying to a satisfying bitterness on the finish.
Feel is rich and round, with nice crispness around the edges.
Overall, a fine example of an American IPA, with characteristic strong hoppiness but some other layers to balance it out.
