2013 Vintage, Silver wax served in a goose island snifter
A -Black. Very Black. Minimal dark brown burnt colored head, nice oilyness coats the glass as I swirl it around.
S - Very nice boozy bourbon aroma that is reminiscent of BCBS. Rich chocolate and coffee hints of vanilla.
T - Great amount of toasted oak from the barrel as well as a nice rich sweet chocolate and slight coffee notes as well as a very nice bourbon presence. I love the regular Pt5, so its no surprise that this beer is even better.
M - Rich and thick, oily and chewy
This is one of the best barrel aged stouts I have had. Close to Bourbon County in mouthfeel and not as sweet. I will definitely be looking for more of this next year and years to come.

Seriously, DH does a damn fine job with this brew. The bourbon complements the base perfectly in my opinion and just balances everything out so nicely in this beer. There is a malty, roasty bitterness in the base that is not my preference but that is just me. I caught some molasses here, also, which was a nice surprise for my palate. Looking at it objectively as I can, this beer is so worthy of its WC status. Got to head to Elf Party for more this winter!

Bourbon characteristics are undeniably present but not overwhelming.
Excellent roast/toast, w/ oaky flavor and boozy presence throughout. As the beer warms the vanilla unfolds, chocolates too.
An exceptional beer. Totally worth going out of my way to try this on tap as i have little chance of getting this bottled. A real treat.

2013 Vintage poured into a Dogfish Snifter
A - pours thick and jet black. Used motor oil
S - Bourbon and roast, nothing incredibly strong though
T - bourbon, roasted chocolate and deliciousness perfectly balanced. Doesn't get much better.
M - creamy and silky smooth
O - One of the best BBA stouts to date.
2012 vintage - still very roasty toasty and chocolatey. Bourbon has faded slightly but still very delicious
