12 oz brown bottle with a beautiful label. Very classy artwork. Can't think of a better label for a Blueberry Stout. Poured into a Standard American pint glass.

A - black on the pour with the darkest of ruby gleaming through the bottom corners when held to the light. Brown head had some very impressive size on the pour. Sits very well, finally leaving a fairly fluffy ring of lace leaving some stick to the walls of the glass.

S - big blueberry whiff up front followed by blueberry underlying classic American stout aromas. Bittersweet chocolate and dark malts with the faintest of black coffee and expresso. Very delicious dessert like aroma.

T - I'm not a big blueberry kind of person. Not in beer anyway. But this flavor is about as good as one could get. Nice shot of blueberry sweetness up front followed once again by sturdy but traditional American stout flavors. Rich milk chocolate sweetness with bold dark chocolate bitterness. Excellent dark malt character with a hint of roast. Light hint of black coffee bean before a malty finish. The real gem with Tres is its ability to get the blueberry across up front and continue the semi candy tart throughout without taking anything away from its classic stout style.

M - medium bodied and nice texture. Just enough thickness to keep a real deal smoothness. The blueberry really adds to that smooth character. This is one anyone could drink. It's super smooth.

O - Tres Blueberry is just delicious. It would be a very good stout without the addition of blueberry. But by adding it they've created a ridiculously smooth bodied stout without really even needing a thicker texture. This stout gets its blueberry notes across but takes nothing away from the stout experience itself. Maybe one of the better examples of pulling a bold stout off.'most overdue the fruit. This has a slap of fruit while still delivering a true American Stout. This is a true classic.

Poured from the bottle into a snifter. Very dark and deep brown body, not the midnight-est of stouts I've had the pleasure of drinking. A finger of mocha head.

Smells like an imperial stout should, only with a hint of fresh blueberry. I'm partial to the freshness of the blueberry smell here because a candy blueberry would have been too much.

Taste matches the smell. A bitter dark chocolate with hints of fresh blueberry. And a whole lot more blueberry in the aftertaste. Very interesting. Not trying to be too crass here, but I just burped, and it was all blueberry.

It's pretty thin, which I'm not too happy about. If it were a thicker stout, it would be much more enjoyable.

Overall, I was intrigued by the idea of a blueberry stout, and I'm glad I tried it. Probably won't go after it again, though. Sorry, Dark Horse; but Plead the 5th is so much better :)

Pours black, small dark brown head that quickly fades to a thin lace, somewhat sticky.
Chocolate and roasted malts first in the smell, with some blueberries also present, sweet and a tiny bit sour, faint coffee too.
Taste of dark chocolate covered overripe blueberries, with the first dominating the latter. The roasted malts help too, dusty cocoa, and a touch of sourness starts showing up bit by bit. Finishes with roast and some hops that make up a nice mild bitterness, and fortunately a bit of the fruit gets through to the aftertaste.
Smooth body, chewy, not heavy and robust tho, zingy at times.
It's nice that the addition of blueberries is subtle, feels natural and helps the "dark fruit" characteristic of the beer, without messing with the great "stout" notes of this beer.

Pours jet black, with a billowing, frothy, extremely dark mocha head that slowly dissipates.

Blueberry is evident as soon as the bottle is opened, sweet and tart, simultaneously. There's a sweet, nutty malt character, with hints of roast, cocoa, and coffee.

Flavor reveals a tart blueberry note, which becomes slightly sweeter mid palate, carrying into the roasty, lightly bitter finish. Blueberry is definitely dominant until the end.

Body is a touch full, with carbonation on the light side, and light alcohol warmth.

It's blueberry. It's a stout. I wish the blueberry weren't so dominant, but were more of an accent to a nice stout. Not something I'd drink regularly.
