Pours a heavy head, tried to hard pour, oops. Smell was of light chocolate and a hint of blueberries. Smelled a little lackluster, expecting more. Taste was good. Chocolate, some roasted malts and a touch of blueberry. Dinged on mouthfeel as I thought this was thin. Not sticky at all, lacking a popping flavor to me.

Ok, but not dark horses finest beer.

Poured dark black. The nose has a nice blueberry forward aroma followed by chocolate. The body has a really nice blend of blueberry front and chocolate back invoking a taste of chocolate covered blueberries. The bottle was very low carbed which worked very well with the beer. It gave it a very smooth mouthfeel.

A - Black, viscous with brown highlights and a brown sugar colored head that lingers and laces
S - Smells of blueberries and molasses
T - Smoky flavor with coffee and an umami, almost mushroomy note. Only a tiny hint of blueberry. Sophisticated flavors integrated nicely.
F - Strong, crisp carbonation but smooth and thick.

Excellent beer with complex flavors and nose, a thick mouthfeel and a beautiful brown head that turns heads. Smelling blueberries is better than drinking fakey blueberry beer, imho. Consequently, I'd say this is blueberry beer done the right way.

I had this on tap during my recent trip to Boston. I found it at the Parrish II on tap served in a standard pint.

The beer is jet black with s skim of brown head.

I can smell the blueberries while the beer is sitting at the bar.

I get an initial taste of blueberries quickly followed by lots of darkly roasted malts and a touch of brown sugar. The heavy roast adds a bit of bitterness which plays well with the blueberry notes. The berries emerge mid glass and in the aftertaste.

The mouth is medium and a bit chewy.

I liked this one a lot but it would be a once a night beer for me.

A nice dark stout with the smell of blueberries and chocolate. A faint whiff of alcohol in the nose. The taste is what was advertised in the smell. A nice chocolate malt taste with the blueberries and sweetness coming in the middle. The ending is a nice malty aftertaste with the perfect level of bitter hoppiness. This is an exquisitely balanced beer that reminds me of chocolate covered blueberries.

Poured into a tulip glass this beer has a 2 inch caramel head with a black body. Smell is of blueberry compote, roasted malt, some earth, and caramel. Taste is nice roasted malt, caramel, vanilla, blueberries, and chocolate. It has a smooth moderate mouth feel with a full body.

Put this one in my basement about two and a half years ago and completely forgot about it until now. Waleeee, let's see what we get!

Look - Typical thick, deep black body with a half inch of tan head. Leaves a faitr amount of lacing as it goes down.

Smell - The blueberries are surely prevelant in this one, almost like fresh pancakes of the like. Not picking up much in the way of coffee or anything roasted, though a faint hit of toast lies on the end.

Taste - Nowwwww we're getting to the stout in this stout. Nice and roasted on the forefront leading to a medium smack of blueberry with a tinge of sweetness.

Feel - Sits nicely, though a bit bubbly for the style.

Overall - A tasty, easy drinker with mostly typical stout qualities. Give it a shot next winter.

Picked up as part of a build-your-own-sixer at my local Stein's Liquor. No bottled on date that I can see. Poured from the fridge into my pint glass.

L: Pours a deep coffee brown with about a quarter inch of red-tinged khaki that dissipates quickly and leaves just a bit of lacing on the glass.

S: Ripe blueberry notes in the nose, hovering above some nice roasted malts. A bit of caramel sweetness in the mix, as well.

T: Roasted and caramel malts at the front, just a touch sweet but predominantly earthy. The blueberry notes come into play almost immediately, though it's a bit difficult to tell if I'm getting those from the taste or the bouquet. The middle has more of the roasted and caramel malts, a bit of clear alcohol, and a bit less of the blueberry notes. A touch of black licorice in there. This one finishes where it started, with more of the roasted and caramel malts and a hint of the blueberry.

F: Medium-bodied, though a little bit lighter/more watery than I expected for the style. It's got a nice creaminess, with just a bit of stick at the close.

O: For what it is, I enjoyed this beer quite a bit. It has a very pleasant bouquet and some nice blueberry notes that only after most of the glass was gone began to grow a bit tiresome. I would never sit down and drink three of these in a row; but for a one-off, this one was pretty tasty.

Appearance - 3.75/5
Black, with several fingers of light brown head.

Smell - 3.75/5
Very strong blueberry aroma, along with hints of chocolate and spice

Taste - 4/5
Roasty, chocolate, slightly smoky malts. The blueberry is present only near the beginning of the sip, then the roasty and smoky aspects take over and the blueberry is only sightly present. While the blueberry is very present in the aroma, I would have liked it to be more present in the taste. Also, I would have made the taste less smoky, as I feel the smokiness in particular grinds against the blueberry. Still, this was quite a good stout, something I would consider getting again.

Mouthfeel - 4/5
Medium-full body, average level of carbonation. Fairly smooth.

Overall - 3.75/5
This was an interesting twist on a stout, though I think the blueberry could have been made much stronger, without overpowering the rest of the stout.

L: Bright dark brown under a 1” tan to brown foam cap
S: chocolate blueberry with some most rich dark cake in the background and a hint of grain.
T: The palate starts with blueberry and then a chocolate coffee background emerges with growing dark malt sugars.
F: Fine and soft medium low carbonation in a medium full body.
O: The beluberry and the dark malts work surprisingly well together in this blueberry flavored stout.

Blueberry notes blend well with the roasted character in the aroma a flavor. Adds a nice, balanced sweetness and depth to the beer. Very well done fruited stout.

I'm a little shocked that this beer isn't more highly regarded.

Yeah, it's not some amped-up Imperial Stout and it hasn't been aged in any spirit barrels, but the base stout itself is fantastic (a perfect blend of roastiness with hints of dark chocolate malt, coffee and raisins) and the blueberry addition is perfectly crafted.

I love this beer and for $11 a 4-pack, it cannot be beat.

Appearance: Black pour with a two finger brown head

Smell: Chocolate, roasted malt, slight coffee, hints of blueberry, lactose although im not sure if theres any in here. I get a wonderful whiff of the blueberry as i swirl the glass

Taste : I mostly get milk chocolate, roasted malts, ever so slight coffee, and that lactose i picked up on the nose, but there is definitely subtle artificial blueberry notes throughout that almost ruins it for me (but not quite). Weird aftertaste

Mouthfeel: Light medium body, but almost too light for the style. Goes down smooth with slight bitterness

Overeall: This is definitely a different take on a stout. Its decently good. I enjoy that its not a blueberry bomb and that the stout flavors can meld with it. There is some sort of subtle off flavor i get however, perhaps from the artificial flavoring. I also get a sense of lactose on the finish that is odd to me becuase i dont think its a milk stout. For me the aftertaste is the biggest negative to this beer. All in all worth checking out as a fun beer, but its a one and done for me.

Poured from a 12 oz. bottle into a chalice.

Appearance: Pours jet black with a moderate amount of bubbles. Solid finger of tan head that slowly settles into a thin creamy layer. Leaves a lot of creamy lacing.

Smell: A roasty, fruity, and sweet dark malt driven aroma with big hints of blueberries and chocolate. Dark roasted barley malt with good hints of dark chocolate, coffee, toast, smoke, biscuit, caramel, and yeast. Sweet hints of molasses, vanilla, and cream. Huge scent of blueberries throughout. Dark fruit hints of cherry, raisin, and prune. A very solid smell.

Taste: Like it smells, a sweet, roasty, and fruity dark malt forward taste with big notes of blueberries and chocolate. Dark roasted barley malt with some good notes of dark chocolate, coffee, smoke, burnt toast, caramel, biscuit, and yeast. Good taste of sweet blueberries along with some sweet notes of molasses, cream, and vanilla. Dark fruit undertones of cherry, raisin, and prune. A very solid taste.

Mouthfeel: Full bodied with a moderate amount of carbonation. Creamy, slick, and pretty juicy. Alcohol heat is hidden well.

Overall: A very good twist on a Stout. The blueberries add a nice fruity kick without making things overly sweet. Solid chocolate malt notes.

Had on tap at the Salty Pig.

Pours a motor oil black with a cardboard colored head.

Smell is a mix of blueberry and roasted chocolaty malts.

Taste is a great balance of roasted bitter sweet coco, espresso, with hints of blueberry. It manages to mantain some of the tartness/bittenress of the blueberries that nicely contrasts the malty sweetness. Flavors are really nicely balanced, when I ordered this I was afraid it would have too much blueberry. The flavor is definitely there, but it doesnt overwhelm. ABV is well masked.

I endorse this beer!

Pitch black petroleum in a glass with just a sliver of caramel head.

Smell is overwhelmingly blueberry to the exclusion of everything else, except a hint of roasted barley in the finish.

Taste is more subtle and refined than the aroma. The fruit presence is clear, but not sweet, as if the blueberry is only a ghost that lingers from beginning until long after the beer is finished. Some roasted barley qualities also round out the flavors.

Mouthfeel leaves something to be desired. Medium thickness with perhaps too much carbonation... I wish this beer was thicker and smoother

Overall, a nice sipper for a cold day, that reminds of summer but is thoroughly imbued with the essence of winter

The blueberries gives the look a darkish purple, kinda sexy, ha. The smell is not over powering, mild one can say. It is kind of sweet for stout, but not all that bad. It feels light on the tongue, however, it is very easy to swallow. Overall, this is one of those stouts that you can get sexy with your woman with. Not too boozy, yet not too overpowering either. Would I buy it again, yes.

12oz bottle poured into stout glass. Very dark brownand opaque. Half finger of tan head that settles to a ring. Aroma is roasty with clear but not overpowering blueberry. Also, there is dark roast coffee and a little alcohol. Taste is initially roast coffee and dark cocoa bitterness with blueberry and chocolate sweetness. Medium-full body, creamy and a bit oily in texture, low carbonation, lingering berry sweetness on the finish.

Pours forth from the bottle a rich, dark, chestnut color, precipitating nearly an inch of fluffy, mocha foam--excellent presentation. The aroma smells distinctly of roasted malt, peat, and salted caramel. Hints of blueberry tickle the senses just prior to imbibing.

The taste is milder than the aroma would suggest, with roasted malt and a surprisingly appreciable dose of authentic blueberry. It’s not especially complex, which is fine, because it would appear to hit its mark regardless. Shades of peat peek through on the back end once the blueberry has subsided. The mouthfeel is quite prickly and exceedingly dry, probably due to the high carbonation and untempered roastiness. The 7.5% ABV is virtually invisible. The body is a little lighter than I prefer for a stout, but not unheard of.

Overall, this is a solid stout with a twist, for those times when you’re in the mood for something a little different. It didn’t knock my socks off, but I have no real complaints, either.

Appearance: It has a very viscous pour as it forms an oily black body with a thick dark brown head that looks very nice but fades out to a thin layer leaving no lacing.

Aroma: I can smell a roasted aroma from about a foot and a half away from the glass. On closer approach I get a roasted coffee-like aroma. There is a berry aroma to the beer after pulling the glass away. I wouldn't be able to identify it as blueberry without reading the label.

Taste: Roasted flavors here; some dark roast coffee and a high cocoa content bakers chcolate. I don't pickup blueberry while actually drinking the beer. My burps taste a bit like blueberries but that's a stretch...

Mouthfeel: It has a nice thick mouthfeel. It is easy to drink.

Overall: A good stout, but I wouldn't call it a blueberry stout. Skip it if you are looking for something that has blueberry flavor. I didn't expect this thing to taste like Kool-aid or anything...but some blueberry flavor would have been nice.

12 oz. bottle poured into a snifter (353-13 5148-51, so just a bit over a year old)

A: Pitch black with a small mocha head and a miniscule collar. Almost no lacing.
S: Smells deliciously of sweet malts. Touch of fruitiness in there of blueberries.
T: Reminds me of a bad craft soda. Seems like artificial blueberry. I don't know if the blueberry kills the stout, but the base stout doesn't really seem like good itself.
M: Weird strong carbonation that is like a fresh craft soda.
O: Just not good. Really weird.

Pretty descent "fruit" stout. It lacks for lacing and is really thin which is a shame; however, it smells like a proper stout with dark chocolate, oak, char, and malt with a hint of blueberries. Taste is similar with the blueberries amping up the dark fruit on the palate.
