On tap in a 20 ounce mug.
Dark golden copper color, near 1f white cap that tapers to a film and leaves solid rings of lacing.
Light and fresh floral perfume hops and creamy malt aromas.
Citrus flavor forward with a malt background. Grapefruit and orange followed by toasted malt.
Medium body, hop kick with a dry finish.
Another local brew, that I enjoyed and consumed, on one of my frequent NC tips.

Came in a standard pint a slight hazed lighter amber shade with a thick full one finger white head atop.Grapefruit rind and floral aromas, light caramel underneath.Citric and grassy hop flavors with a sweetish caramel/biscuit malt base, nice lingering hops in the finish.Just a well made solid no frills IPA,it wont blow you away with complexity but it doesn't need to.

Had a pint of this on tap at The Pit in Durham, NC.
Look: dark golden color with half a finger of white head & a thin lacing
Smell: citrus, primarily grapefruit with a little bit of lemon & orange
Taste: good crisp citrus flavor with just the right amount of bitterness
Feel: medium bodied
Overall: really good standard American IPA. I'd definitely have this again.

Yes, everyone has one. American IPA. This one happens to be one of my favorites. Living close to Asheville, NC, we are able to visit a lot of good local breweries along with the big boys, Sierra Nevada, Oskar Blues and New Belgium (soon). Southern App is making some very nice beers. The IPA is (almost) always on tap and I have sampled it often.
The look of the beer is good with a solid amber hue. It pours nicely with the right amount of head. The smell and taste combination are very good. It is a bit piney/resiny with a dry, citrusy (almost grapefruit) finish. Nothing overwhelms with this beer. It is not overly hopped, not too sweet, not boozy. It is just an excellent, drinkable IPA that is hard to resist.
