On tap at 2013 Brewgrass Festival.
Clear; dark amber in color with a durable off-white head.
Medium body; soft carbonation.
Belgian yeast, slightly funky, gives this beer a big boost in complexity.
Exceptional Belgian twist on an amber ale.

Another new one from Appalachian that I decided to dive right into pour. Nice mild amber pour with only a thin film that crossed the top and was fleeting at best. A bit of a cloudiness and haze to it but nothing that was too terribly out of place here.

Aroma starts off with some fruit notes. Apples, pears, a touch of plum which evolves into a nice grassy and yeast like smell that cleans up rather well. Nice body, though a bit thin, but not terrible by any means leads into a nice flavor of crisp and clean grassy notes and touches of light pears. Warming brings a touch of spice and a light dry finish that is capped by a smooth and clean fruit flavor.

Overall this was really a decent offering, though paled in comparison to some of the others I had today. Still I do not think I would pass on it if offered.
