A pale, almost medium yellow is technically translucent but very nearly opaque in its cloudiness. It looks lively as soft bubbling activity keeps up a fluffy, foamy and downright pillowy clean white head. It stops at a height of about one finger. Retention and lacing are strong.
The smell of blackberries pours out, both sweet and tart in nature. Some cracked wheat dryness sets the foundation, and a hint of perfume balances and adds depth. Very light spicing builds ever so gently over time. Very gentle dust, pear and a faint whiff of a paler kind of sweetness add more nuance with every whiff.
It focuses more on the tart and sour aspect in the flavor, foregoing the sweetness a bit. The yeast character doesn't translate as well on the tongue as I'd like it to, but it comes together well.
As light-bodied as it should be, there's a combination of soft, fluffy and crisp before getting pretty juicy. Crispness remains, and it stays juicy, even as some dryness eases into the finish.
