Located right on the Maumee River in Downtown Toledo, and just a few blocks from Fifth Third Field, home of the Toledo Mud Hens. This place has the most incredible display of breweriana I have ever seen in one place. It was like walking into a beer museum, beginning with the ground floor's old beer advertising signs. Upstairs was a great collection of old beer bottles and a pint glass collection, and just dozens of interesting beer novelties. I tried the IPA and the ale. They were OK, I've had better ales in Ohio and Michigan. I didn't stay long but wish I had, as it was a nice, friendly environment and one of the worst thunder storms I've ever driven through lasted from the time I left Toledo all the way to South Bend, Indiana.

The brewpub/restaurant has a lot character. It is set in the second floor an old 19th Century hotel that also houses several other businesses, including a steakhouse, pastery shop, pub, restaurant and brewery. Each of these are very distinctive. It also contains a wonderful collection of beer memorabilia in the Toledo Brewing Hall of Fame & Museum. The glassed-in copper colored mash tun and kettle are the defining features of the pub. The Tap Room (bar) on the main floor (second floor) also has a mixed old world new world character with brick walls and new wood tables and chairs both raised and regular height.. The wood bar is located on the far wall with a large selection of spirits and booze in front of a large mirrored wall. They serve only Maumee Bay beers with 11 taps flowing, some regular, others seasonal.
Most of the beers are very good. For food, the specialty of the house is pizza, baked in a wood fired oven. The menu is pretty full featured and diverse, since it is adjoined by at least 2 resturants. I have sampled many items from the menu and found the food to be good but not great. The prices are very reasonable and I highly recommend this place for a good drinking and dining experience.
