While I have lived in Louisville for about 4 years now, I have only started to visit this place recently. A bit hard to find, its in an industrial region of downtown Louisville.
The "Taproom" is a very open air place. Two doors to enter (one from main, and one from clay). A few tables around the place, along with dart boards on the main street side. The walls are decorated with quite a history of local beers, very well done.
The bar is along the other side of the building with taps places here and there along the length of it. The tap handles are quite conversation pieces, as they are hand made ceramic taps from a local artist.
Every day pints are 3 dollars, except Thursday, that day they are 2, which makes this the best deal in town. They have the same bartender working every night, and he doesn't mind if you bring your own food in, why would he because they don't serve food there.
Beer is great. Always have flagships, and a seasonal or so. They even have a cider that I just recently discovered when I couldn't find out what the Worthog tap was at the end of the bar.
Your going to love it!

Another brewery on the main drag. Kind of dark inside, nothng fancy on the interior. A variety of taps. Food was OK. Not as much of a vibe as the preious places I was at.

I was in Louisville for work and this place was about two blocks from my hotel. I went here with a couple of co-workers and a few customers.
You enter and go down a few steps to the main area. They also have tables street side if you wish to be outside. There are two main areas in the bar, we sat further in back away from the main entrance. Lots of light colored wood, windows and decent lighting more than off-set the semi-basement location. The place was 3/4 full on a Tuesday afternoon which says something.
Our server was friendly and timely on beer and food orders.
The food was decent with the dry rub wings being a particular favorite.
They had about 10 beers and I think 3 rotating options. The beers were average to good. I had an Alt, APA, Dank IPA and the Porter. The main fault I had with the beer was all of them had a pretty thin mouthfeel.
We did enjoy our visit and would head back but I am looking forward to trying some other spots in town.

I visited Bluegrass Brewing while passing through Louisville last week. It's a fairly typical brewpub, with a neat wood & brick decor and a long, welcoming bar. They've got a full bar and standard pub grub, and they had 9 house beers on offer when I visited. The beer itself is totally serviceable, if unremarkable. It's worth a visit if you're in the downtown area and would like a beer and a bite to eat.

My son and I visited recently and had a good time overall. We ordered two sampler flights and were impressed with most of what we got. They had at least seven different brews of theirs available at the time. The service was outstanding as well as the cleanliness. The servers were very professional and friendly. They had lots of room outside and a wonderful view of a water wall. Very good ambiance. We did not order food but BBC had a very good varied menu.

My wife and I visited this brewery on a short family trip to Louisville. The brewery is located in an historic stone building....we sat at the basement bar. The ambiance is excellent.....fermenters behind the bar and lots of small town local feel. The beer was average....I liked the pale ale and the bourbon barrel brew. The rest was average. I had salmon tacos, which were very good, but the service was not good. Bartenders and servers all seemed like they didn't want to be there.

Visited at 8 on a Sunday. Rather busy but got a spot at the bar. 12 of their own on tap. Didn't get any food but it seemed like typical pub far. I had 2 of the flattest pints I've ever had at a brewery. And the beer was very mediocre. I'm not a fan

I live in Louisville and go to New Albanian Brewery across the river for local beer and recently to Against The Grain Brewery which just opened here in Louisville. That pretty much says it all when it comes to BBC for me. Everytime I have had they're beer I was greatly underwhelmed and everytime I have been to the Main St. location the service was terrible and the servers extremely rude and obnoxious like they were put out when I asked for something. One instance literally sent me to the conclusion that I had to write this review. They're motto is don't buy beer from strangers, I say don't buy beer from acquainted ignorance

A: Being an out-of-towner, this place was very welcoming. The environment seemed like the perfect place for a local who had a love for craft beer and supported their brewery. Personalized mugs lined the walls and were the property of the drinker who could come in and take their mug off the wall for the day's drinking experience. (a mug club type of fee obviously applied)
Q: The beer speaks for itself, large selection of quality craft beers.
S: The waitress we had was a bit green and didn't know the beers on the chalk board as well she should have. With the support of a fellow employee I was able to get all the information necessary to order some very tasty brews.
F: Food selection is quite wide, great for a family or a group of people with different likes. Only downside is that there is not a specialty that stands out.
V: Decent prices all around for both beer and food. Although, coming from Chicago the prices were good but for the area they may actually be the same if the cost of living is taken into effect.

Went to this newer location for BBC after catching a Louisville basketball game at the new YUM! Center across the street. It's in a great spot downtown on the corner of 3rd and Main.
A - 4.5 The place sure was jumping after the game, mostly filled w/ UL fans who had come over from the game like my party. Everyone generally was smiling and seemed to be having a good time. I'm sure it helped that the Cards won. :)
Q - 4 The beer was solid and the appetizers we had were well-made. Nothing was over-the-top here but we didn't have a full meal experience, either. Just drinks and apps for us that day, but they were good.
Ser - 3.5 I'm not sure if it was because they were so busy or because they were still "new" and trying to work all the kinks out, but the staff was a bit slow at times. My wife's water was forgotten multiple times, and we'd be empty before given the chance to re-up. They were pretty friendly, though. Could've been a lot worse.
Sel - 4 There are a good selection of regular and seasonal brews on tap. I'd like to see more guest brews offered, though. The rest of the bar appeared to be pretty solid. The food selection was good, about what you'd expect for a brewpub.
F - 4 The apps were good. Again, I didn't have a full meal but the offerings appeared solid and the meals I watched being carried past me definitely looked appetizing.
V - $$ The prices are about what you'd expect for a place like this. A brewpub serving quality beers, decent food, and in a downtown setting... not bad considering. Overall a good place that I'd probably hit up again if in the area or going to more UL games. They have specials on early game days as that would be a seemingly good value also.
