Appearance: This beer pours a light caramel color with orange highlights. A couple fingers of egg shell white head reduce down to some nice tight lacing that clings nicely to the inside of my glass.
Smell: Smells of some biscuity-type malts, caramel, as well as some floral hops. Not bad, smells pretty good for a pale ale.
Taste: I get a lot of caramel up front, and some lighter floral and piney hops on the back end. Pretty well balanced all in all. One of the better APAs that I've had.
Mouthfeel/Drinkability: Between light and medium bodied, and the carbonation is good. Overall, a better than average pale ale. I picked up this beer fresh and found it to be much better than the last time I had it.

Now an IPA by the brewery's reckoning - same ABV, so let's see what else, if anything, has changed.
Served in a mason jar (!) at the joint across the street from the brewery, this beer appears a clear medium amber hue, with one finger of soapy white head, which leaves a decent paint job of lace around the glass. It smells of light bready caramel malt, and floral citrusy hops. The taste is muted citrus hops up front, a fair dose of caramel malt, and a distressing amount of medicinal booze warming. The carbonation is on the light side, the body soft, smooth, and cozy from the alcohol, and it finishes off-dry, the sweetness more due to the booze that anything else.
A weirdly warm IPA, when everything else is par for the course.

Sampled on tap at the brew house.
Orange and clear, looks like a pale ale should. Nice hoppy smell, lots of grapefruit and citrus aromas. Full flavored, good blend of hops but still well balanced. Nothing spectacular, just a good all around pale ale.
I would have liked to bring some home, but they did not have any bottled at the time. Only had Wheatfish and Wildhuckleberry available to go.
