Poured into 22oz steiner at the great northen brewer. I know its not the best for analysis purposes, but any who...
A: reddish copper hue, not a bit of cloud in ti. Awesome color.
S: crystal-caramel malt mixed in with pronounced traces of herbal hoppiness. Alittle nutty and quite rustic and refined
T: Prounced caramel sweet malt right off the bat. Quite noticeable rye-breadiness, alittle spice mixes in quite well. Hop bitter on the backend, some bold herbal hops. Alittle citrus fruit.
M: medium level crabonation, medium bodied and off-dry.
O: one of my favorite ESB'S, my choice brew at this brewery. Love the balance

Made a side trip here (by all of 5 or so miles), because it was my mom who actually pointed this brewery out to me, for reasons too pedantic to get into here...
This beer pours a clear reddish copper hue, with two fingers of rocky off-white head, which leaves some random webbed lace around the glass in its wake. Its smells faintly of bready, biscuit malt, and light earthy hops. The taste is more biscuit and bready malt, with the hops coming in much more tangy - the bitter in Extra Special Bitter pulling its weight. The carbonation is moderate, the body medium weight, a tad clingy on the palate, and it finishes clean, crisp, and dry.
Quite a fine ESB - despite the elevated ABV strength, this still goes down like your friendly neighbourhood pub best bitter.
