Style | ABV
American IPA |  5.70% ABV

Availability: Year-round

Notes/Commercial Description:
A true IPA that is designed to be more drinkable and refreshing than IPAs typical of the Northwestern United States. Citrus cascade flavors dominate the palate, but don’t overwhelm.

A: Slightly hazy orange-amber in color. Forms a substantial, off-white colored head that has excellent retention and copious lacing.

S: Aroma is a bit subdued, but what is there is rather inviting. Mostly citrus and orange, with hints of lemon and a touch of pine. A little bit of caramel malt in the mix.

T: Taste is similar to the aroma. Mild to moderate caramel maltiness, orange, citrus, and a light touch of pine. Clean tasting. Finishes with more citrus.

M: Light to medium bodied; a little light for the style, but the ABV is on the lower end as well. Medium carbonation. Mild bitterness.

O: I had this one several times while in Montana. Review is from a bottle I picked up at the brewery and I can say this bottle is far better than the one I picked up in St Mary. Also had on tap twice, but I've got to say this bottle is the hoppiest of the bunch. Overall, a decent IPA. Very drinkable.

Thanks to NWNewhouse for this one! My first added beer. Yay! Poured from 22oz bottle into Jackie O's munich glass.

A - one finger off-white head dissipated into ring and what looks like a profile of Elvis in the middle; amber color with slight cloudiness
S - lots of sweet caramel and bread with some aromatic hops in background
T - toffee and yeast up front with bready malts coming after; not as sweet as aroma suggests; any sweet fades very quickly leaving a somewhat bland bitter hop finish with a little herbal honey(dry though)
M - medium-high fine carbonation; leaves a long drying linger especially on sides of tongue; just a touch of solvent alcohol towards end
D - not really special in any category; could use a bit more character in the hops department; not sure if i could taste the dry-hopping of the "rare glacial hops."

This pours a hazy burnt orange sunset with a constant rising stream of bubbles leading excellent retention of the frothy white head. There is spotty lace. On the nose there is orange citrus, toffee malt, and some measure of the deep pine aromas that permeate IPAs up here. In the mouth there is less bitterness than I would have guessed given the nose, being balanced by the biggish malt notes in the beginning, but as it finishes the bitterness fades back in. The body is medium light, just about right for a small-heft IPA like this.

Overall, this is a fine brew, the second more or less unknown IPA from this region I've had this week that to me have been pretty outstanding.
