Supposedly an english bitter, but ends up tasting like a lager or something, a bit of a chemical taste in there and a bit thin, a bit boring.

The clowns that dragged this drop need to find another career. Clearly making beer is not their cut.
I drank this brew daily for years before discovering Boag's had knifed it off their brewing list.
A zero hangover product which cannot be stated for the other mass market brews.
Very affordable back in the 90's and early 20's. Was always an easy breakfast drink with a Jesters Pie!!
All those 1% dishwash brews that now saturate the Booze shops don't come close to the fizz once contained in those stubbies. A very sad loss to the serious drinkers of Australia!! RIP Strongarm.

I love the label.... it's sparked hours (minutes actually) of discussion about the muscular anatomy of the arm. I always thought the bicep was a single muscle, not two...
Anyway...beer....
Spidery lace, head sinks to a respectable centimetre or so, but sinks further, leaving a hub the middle ...
Amber, no haze, a few bubbles.
I'm getting a metallic twang on the nose, but also some burnt-match notes, some stewed vegetables... almost of line-up of the usual suspects of homebrew faults....but, actually, together it's not that bad. Maybe the bottle's a dud....
A strange blend of flavours, some nuttiness, musk-lolly. At the very end I get some green hop.... but not much.
I have some difficulty reconciling my experience with the label description of "gutsy malt flavours, rich hop characters and a refreshing bitter finish".
Quite dry, no residual sweetness, and a bit thin in body... not my cup of tea....

Appearance: Deep rich golden amber colour. Reasonable head which dissipates at a reasonable rate as the head thickens. Nice moderate carbonisation. Good thin lacing.Cant kock the appearance of this brew at all.

Smell: A lot of sweetness smooth caramel/buttery sweetness.

Taste/ Mouthfeel: Very strange chemical taste which makes this unplesent, I cant put my finger on it, almost medicine like most probably from the malt. Very very tiny. Aftertaste is good. Hop bitterness on the edges of the palate and a diacetyl taste toward the centre. Bitter and lively at the start and smooth down the throat.

Drinkability/Overall: Very strange character of sweetness a bit wierd.

Darkish copper thin persistent bead
Reluctant head,
The label claims a beer that has gutsy malt flavours (true in smell and taste , albeit "gutsy" is stretching it There is a caramel sweetness there.
The label goes on to claimrich hop characteristics ( not there for me)and a refreshing bitter finish (not thee either).

This beer is well above many of the macro brewery offerings at the local bottle shop and does at least aspire to have something in the way of flavour

Pours a nice golden color with a tall tight head that refuses to go away. Has a slight yeasty aroma, not much else. Taste is fairly dry, but pretty well balanced. Nice clean finish. Carbonation is just enough to keep the head up, but not grating on the tongue. Nothing else really notable about the mouthfeel. All in all, a pretty drinkable beer, no strong flavors, but no bad flavors either. I might get this again on a hot day.

surprisingly large wfoamy white head. yellow in color with a reddish tinge. not bad.
niec aroma. slightly floral and spicy. strickingly resembles hops!!?
more flavor than the average macro. somewhat spicy bitterness keeps it from being too sweet. though the flavor dulls a bit as it warms, the mouthfeel remains crisp and lightish.
ok as far as drinkablility goes. not something i would seek out, but wasnt disappointed.

well this is one aussie lager im going to pump up because ive always enjoyed drinking it. the whole basis of lager in this country is supposed to be some thing with flavor, but not too complex, that you can knock off at any time. this is one that fits the bill and while not the most exciting beer ive ever had, its a dead set ripper to drink over dinner, a barbie or when the weather is 96 degrees in the shade.

good looking beer. it pours on the amber side, and has a thick creamy white head thats still there as the last drops go. not a lot of smell, some mixed grains and a slightly citrus aroma. the taste is surprising for a macro. tries to have that raspy bitterness most lagers do here, but fortunately doesnt manage to reach that level. there are elements of adjuncts here, but are obscured by the taste of real malt! has a very meaty flavor, with a nice bitter finish that is peppery, particularly on tap. crisp and clean, and IMO hugely drinkable.

not the best beer in this country by a long shot, but if youre looking for a mindless but still tasty enuff brew thats goes down a treat, and costs sweet FA, strongarm is the king.

Clean golden colour with a thin head that hangs around for a little.

Aromas of your standard Aussie bitter - some malt, some hops, same ol' same ol'.

Palate is a good mixture between sweet malty flavours and some bitter hoppy flavours. Has a good little bite on the end and has a fairly nice aftertaste of slightly sweet malt.

Good summer beer, nothing special, just a quaffer for the warmer months.
