The look is uninspiring. Taste is more bold than the original wee heavy. Is it better? I don't think so.

330 ml bottle poured into a snulip.
L: Clear ruby-brown, half inch khaki head, loose large bubbled foam settles to a ring in half a minute, but rises with a swirl.
S: Malty nose has some fruity esters and mineral aromas.
T: Malty but less rich than the nose advertises, bread crust and caramel malt, tangy hints of dried fruit, woody and earthy hops, moderate sweetness and bitterness.
F: Medium-ish body, smooth, hardens to a light bite on the back, minor chewiness.
O: Enjoyable brew.

On the label, it's advertised as "it's like Christmas cake in a glass". If it's helpful, Christmas cake is a dense British food made of dried fruit and spices and a bit of flour, so don't expect a sheet cake. Sweet, but not birthday-cake-sweet. Strong Band-Aid/peat flavors, like a bad impression of scotch, far overwhelms any other flavors. I like scotch, but this is rubbing me the wrong way. It tastes more like a bacterial infection. Could I have an "off" bottle? Not sure, but this is uncarbonated, rubbery, and unpleasant.

Imperial Pint at F/Stop Fitzgerald public house in Salem OR.
$6
Pours a dark dark brown with garnet aspects when held to the light.
Nice malty/dark fruit aromas. Heavily malty.
Taste very similar, brown raisin bread, orange malt extract, slight whiff of peat. Excellent
Lovely mouthfeel. Slick. Lowish carbonation but no cloying.
Lovely beer

What a delicious wee heavy - quite possibly one of the best if not the best I have had. Great coloration, decent scent, and medium-bodied mouthfeel. Taste-wise, it was super flavorful and truly and enjoyable drink I had sitting back this late holiday season.

Pours a brownish copper color with well over a finger of beige head. The nose has a malty quality but there are also notes of dark fruit, molasses and wood. The flavor also has molasses notes to go along with the sweet maltiness. There's a meaty quality to the flavor profile but also a slight perfume quality. The body is a touch thin for the style.

Bought at Liquor Shed. Best before October 2023. Sounds fresh to me.
Pours a deep amber brown, cola like, with a finger of off white foam, lovely lacing abounds.
Smells malty, caramel, toasted, has some spicy notes, more sweetness, like brown sugar.
Taste is that brown sugar sweetness, toasted malt, nice zing of spicy notes, a burnt like character. Not really sweet but nothing that I would call bitter.
Medium bodied with medium carbonation.
A real treat this is. I'll have to pick up more 4packs.

L: Walnut, transparent body with a paper white head.
S: Sweet. Caramel, grapes, a hint of oak, and a bit of citrus.
T: Follows. Upfront caramel malt quickly becomes candied orange peel and cranberry and burnt sugar, with nutty notes and roasted malt on the finish.
F: Silky smooth, light carbonation, nice warmth.
O: Fantastic, inviting, warm. A great holiday beer.

Brown/amber pour with minimal tan head. The big plus here is complexity. Toasted malt up front, followed by a rotisserie of flavors--caramel, dark fruit. There's a funky start and a sweeter finish. Nicely balanced, ample flavor.
