Served this American Pale Wheat Ale, at the brewery, on tap, in a pint glass. This ale poured a light hazy pale yellow color, produced an nice white head, featured great retention, and some lacing on the glass. The aroma consisted of malted wheat, spice and citric grapefruit. Light in body, this ale had a malted wheat base, some spice, and a suggestion of citric grapefruit. Decent session beer, nothing outstanding about this beer, true to the style.

This is being served as their "light" beer. They had a hefeweizen when we were there, so in comparison this was of course much lighter in aspect. Somewhat pale for a wheat, but still with a spritzy quality and a note of lemon. Since this place is more of an equipment showcase, they may be needed to brew close to style, but I hope their Brewmaster's Specials show some more flair.

Appearance: Creamy yellow with about average head but very lacey.
Smell: It has a nice wheaty aroma a little milder than a hefe.
Taste: It has a slight spicy-clove like taste.
Mouthfeel: Very light but smooth.
Overall: Alright not the best wheat beer on the market but not bad. There is hardly any aftertaste so that should be appreciated. I have had this in the bottle and on tap and there is a huge difference.

Had this on tap at the brewery on last trip to Springfield, MO. Arrived with a wedge of lemon.
Hazy, unfiltered yellow gold with a nice sized head, it leaves a thin lace ring on the glass.
Smell is lemon citrus with wheat. Complex flavors - sweet malt taste to start, with a nice spicy and yeast balance. Ends with a floral hop bitterness. Mouthfeel was full without being to sticky.
Normally I wouldn't want extra fruit in my beer, but the lemon enhanced the smell and flavor.

i liked this beer because it had a nice balance and complexity about it. i have had some very boring wheat beers but this one had a few things going on. i immediately discarded the lemon it was served with. the beer had some citrus notes all its own. it was heavily carbonated and laced nicely.

Had this on tap at the local brewery here in Springfield, MO.
The beer has a good amount of head and is very cloudy. As it's being consumed, it leaves a good amount of lacing on the glass.
Smell is a fresh wheat lemon scent.
Upon the first sip, I got the fresh sweet lemon malt that transitions to a spicy hop flavor and finally hop bitterness that rounds everything out at the end. This brew is very hoppy for the style. Mouthfeel is nearly perfect for the style, as there isn't a trace of this brew being watery.
This is one kick ass American Wheat Ale. It's great to see my hometown brewery brew such a good one. Plenty of complex flavor, awesome mouthfeel, just can't get enough. Also, I even see the "I only drink macro lager crowd" even liking this beer, as it's actually fairly easy to drink. Just one very important thing, make sure you tell the bartender you DO NOT want lemon in your brew.

Retasted the wheat July 28, 2006 and find the drinkability very good - 4.5
not quite as highly carbonated (not explosive) as described earlier (Feb '05)
Maybe Trey has tweeked the recipe. A definatle session beer for the wheat lover.
This beer starts with a Citrus and wheat grain aroma and shares some of the characteristics of a 12 bottle of Corsendonk's Abby Pale Ale! Especially its lemony taste and explosive CO2 level. Very cloudy with white head that quickly fell and left heavy lace. Agree its very style correct. For someone who is fond of this style I would guess the drinkability would go up to 4 or 4.5

On tap at the Brewhouse.
A: Served a pale golden color with a small head that6 fades to some lacing.
S: Aroma of fresh grain some malt sweetness and citrus.
T: Taste of fresh grain with a nice mixture of citrus and malt sweetness. Mild bitterness and a slightly sticky finish.
F: Fairly light body, smooth and creamy.
O: Decent drinker, a nice wheat ale popular with Midwest beer drinkers. Just add fruit for the young and hip.

Pours a hazy, pale yellow color. 1/3 inch head of a white color. Great retention and slight lacing. Smells of wheat, yeast, sweet malt, and slight citrus. Fits the style of an American Pale Wheat Ale. Mouth feel is smooth and creamy with an average carbonation level. Tastes of wheat, yeast, slight hop, and slight citrus. OVerall, a good aroma, body, and mouth feel.

This is the standard "light" beer at the brewco.
Nice cloudy appearance that stands apart. Smell is standard with very mild hoppiness. Nice beer with smooth wheat character.
I agree with the previous poster that this is a very standard, ofter reproduced wheat beer. Their hefe is more interesting. Still this beer does its job for the style. Smooth and easy to drink but probably my least favorite from the brewco.

poured a very pale yellow body with a 1" fluffy white head that left a lot of lacing all around the glass. Aroma is of citrus and wheat. Had a lemony/citrusy flavor with high carbonation. A very drinkable beer that is perfect for a nice warm day.

Poured into pint glass produced about 1/2 finger of head. Smells citrusy with a big wheaty smell behind it. Tastes kind of bland, not as citrusy as I expected from the smell. Decent amount of lacing on the glass. Not really a bad beer just really plain. would probably be really good with some bolder hops and more emphasis on the citrus taste I've come to love from most modern wheats. Not bad but I wouldn't make it a point to buy it.

I was very un-impressed with this wheat. Being a springfield native, I am a big fan of nearly every Mueller beer. although, the unfiltered wheat is simply unremarkable, I've tasted hundreds of wheats amd it tasted like everyone I've ever had. this is the first time, I've had trouble filling the letter minimum.
