The place looks great. I love the combination of the modern and the old style. It is a wide open space with lots of seating and a big inviting bar. The brewing equipment is open for view through the floor to ceiling glass.
The brews are great and the sampler is the way to start. Six 4-oz pours (which includes the seasonal) is only 6 bucks. I wished I had longer to stay, because the sampler was more than inviting. There is an obvious dedication to the beer making here.
Our server took good care of us. She knew the menu and the brews well, gave great descriptions and recommendations.
I had the ceasar salad which was great and the tomato bisque which was only so-so. My date had the chicken marsala and gave it a 6 out of 10, only slightly better than average. When I go back, it will be for bar fare and brews, not a meal.
The value seems to be about right. Although I can't give the food two thumbs up, I do think it is a great place and some excellent beer.

Whilst I wasn't disappointed in Springfield Brewing Company, I certainly wouldn't go out of my way to visit. The food and atmosphere were good, but the beer average at best. If you're in the area or passing through I'd stop, but I wouldn't make it a point, especially with so many superior breweries nearby in St. Louis.

Located in downtown Springfield. It is quite large, taking up two floors. There is a lot of chrome and glass but it is not a sterile environment. In the back is the brewing operation, spotless to say the least. The place has a nice character, especially with all of the mugs over the main bar. There were a number of locals which seem to be part of the local mug club. Service was very good and the bartender was very knowledgeable about the beers they serve. They serve about 5-6 year round beers and a couple of seasonal or special brews. The menu has a good selection of pub grub or meals and there are usually daily specials to choose from. Well worth checking out if you are ever in the area.

Passing through on a roadtrip and stopped for lunch. Quiet late-lunch crowd. Terrible Motown/70s soundtrack. The Greek Salad and Ultimate Pizza were great. Our server said they were trying out their new multigrain pizza crust and it was excellent: crispy/cracker bottom, moist-chewy middle, and ample toppings.
Unfortunately, the Pale Ale and Märzen taps were out -- it was just after Christmas, so I can't fault them for necessary maintenance and all-important sanitary behavior: they said they were cleaning their tanks. Is that a euphemism?
The Full Nelson was available: it was a very good if slightly sweet and unbalanced double IPA. I won't review it as they reported running very low and they sold out of the sixers they bottled within hours of availability, and no plans to brew again any time soon. Great local place; a bit far from the highway for a quick stop, but well worth the few miles off rt44 for an excellent lunch stop.

Located downtown in an area that seems to be having a resurgence. This brick building is large and exhibits the normal brass and wood feel. It has a large open bar. There are some TV's, but it is not the center point like a sports bar.
I had 3 beers and all were well executed, but nothing to write home about. I liked the Kolsch the best and was happy that they strayed from the traditional Pale Ales.
The service was standard and so was the food. To be honest I would have given this place a lower rating, but I had some great conversations with people that seemed to know beer. So I feel like I just need to come back another time.
Obviously, Springfield doesn't have a TON of options. So check it out if you are in the area, but as of today I wouldn't go our of your way for this brewpub. Good vibe...average beers.

Stop #212 on my quest to visit every quality brewery/brewpub in the world.
Tuesday evening around 6:30. Large historic space with huge open bar in the center. Legit brewerania on the old brick walls.
Began with the 6 beer 3oz sampler for $6. All beers were clean, well attenuated, and spot on in terms of style.
Kolsch - seasonal beer. Clean with a touch of fruit. Nice.
Unfiltered Wheat - "like Boulevard but better" according to the bartender (Sly). Hazy, no head, and very good.
Pale Ale - light caramel flavor, not sweet, pine flavor. Among the best brewpub pale ale's that I've had.
Red IPA - brewers special. A bit muddy with some off flavor (especially coming off the pale ale).
Schwarzbier - black sheep beer. Malty and clean - very well done.
The actual brewer is Mueller and there is an impressive brewing operation visible from the bar.
Service was excellent and the food very good.
One of the best rural brewpubs I've visited and the pals ale, usual just pale and lifeless, was among the finest brewpub pale ale I've had. The only downside is the cancerous macro domestic light beers in bottles (being sold to the college kids).
