I had this place on my radar for awhile, but only yesterday got a chance to stop by. I didn't think it was too hard to find - it's near intersection of I-287 and Routes 22 & 206, close to Bridgewater Commons Mall. Of course, Rt 22 with its crazy U-turns and people cutting to and from stores making getting to this place more complicated than it should be.
The store looks like a place people go to to load on a few cases of Bud and cheap liquor to last through the weekend. Even as I entered, I thought that this is not the store I am looking for (I didn't know exact name or address). Very cluttered place - cases everywhere, liquor is in your face right up front. Well, I thought, since I am here I might take a look at their beer corner.
Oh, boy, was I wrong to judge this place by appearance. Excellent selection of Belgian beers, imports and US craft brews. You get it all - from Avery to Victory - including 3 Floyds (don't see a lot of it in NJ), full DFH & Unibroue line-ups, vintage brews. A bit disorganized with random cases all over the place, but I don't think this is stopping any BAs. My haul: DFH Fort & Burton Baton, Allagash Interlude and Fraoch Heather Ale.
Service is lacking. Almost all employees looked like they are underage. Despite constant traffic in the beer aisle (they were rearranging something), I was only asked if I need any help after about 15-20 minutes. Granted I enjoy browsing on my own, but an offer of assistance is always welcome.
Prices seemed good, but I am bad judge of that.
Bottom line: This place is only 30 minutes from my sister's house, so I'll be coming here regularly. And if you are in the neirghborhood, make an effort and stop by. Just don't go here for service, go here for selection.

Easy to find right on Route 22. A big building that gives you a bit of a clostrophobic feeling as the aisles are somewhat close to each other and are tall. There is an aisle dedicated to craft beers, and the selections is very good for the area. I picked up some Harpoon and Lagunitas and they were fresh. I did need some help finding a wine, and I got prompt and knowledgable service.
The cash register area looks run down. The whole interior needs a facelift. But since this is a store and not a bar, I can overlook this as the beer selection is where the true focus is here. Also, make sure you look around for stacks of beer cases that are placed around the store that may not be on the shelves.

Made a pit stop on my way back home from Somerset. Never been, not in my neck of the woods. 2nd to last aisle is complete craft. Nice amount of bomber's, 750's, 6&4packs line the entire aisle. A few brewery's not found in shops up north but nothing crazy. Prices were on point with what I'm used to. Ended up grabbing a couple bottles of Deliverance (for some reason this is hard to come by in northern shops) and browsed the rest of the time. Overall a nice place to drop in and grab a couple bottles. Would stop again if I'm ever down that way again.

Stopped by this store on the way to a party in the area and I was pleasantly surprised. Lots to choose from in the way of singles, bombers, sixers, and cases. Not too many out and out surprises but they had almost anything and everything that makes its way to New Jersey and the prices were all at minimum on par with the lowest I've seen elsewhere and often beat that.
It is cluttered and busy and it was a bit hard to shop because of traffic in the beer lanes. Not a big deal to me. the Mrs. found it a bit more irritating. Staff ranged from indifferent to mildly helpful; got the sense that if I lived nearby and came in here often they'd have better communication. The beer guy stopped to talk for a few minutes when I asked about Cantillons; said they didn't have them at the moment but would be getting more in soon.
All the new releases were in stock; every Winter Warmer, the new Sam Adams stuff (Vixen, etc), the latest Stone Vertical Epic, etc. Full line-up of Jolly Pumpkin and extensive selection of Belgians, English, Scottish, and German beers.
Good store. I paid 47.00 for a bomber of Bear Republic Big Black Bear stout, a six of OB Mama's Little Yella, a six of 21st Amendment Fireside Chat, and a 30 pack of PBR for the party goers. Not bad I'd say.

Not much to look at but they do have a solid selection that's better than 99% of the stores I've been to in the Central Jersey area.
Some of the previous reviews are correct - it is kind of cluttered, but I stop in there almost weekly and I've noticed it getting more and more organized. If you can find the Beer Manager he'll always stop what he's doing to try and help you (something the rest of the other employees don't care to do). But if you don't mind spending a little time searching you can definitely find some gems.
It seems like they put beers with a higher ABV% out incrementally... so it's not unusual to find something from a year or two back.
An entire (large) aisle is devoted to craft brews. Approx. 75% domestic/25% import.
They have a lot of 6-packs but mostly focus on bombers. Breweries I consistently see there include: Rogue, Founders, DFH, Stone, Bruery, Schlafly, Southern Tier, Victory, Harpoon, Ommegang, Weyerbacher, Mikkeller and a lot more (that is almost an understatement). I always bring up the Beer Advocate site on my phone as I'm walking in and start reading reviews. I always wind up finding something new to try.
Also, they may not always be able to tell you what they have coming in, but don't be afraid to have them try and special order what you're looking for. I've asked them for a few things that I never thought they'd get and they came through (and have never gouged me on the price).

This is a good store for us mid to northern Jersey folks. Always a good selection and some surprises hidden around too if you don't mind digging around and on the tops and backs of shelves. they even have some nice vintage stuff. Prices are right around average. Nothing is overly priced. The help is lacking is some regards depending on who's working but over all it's not bad. A rotating stock with all the good beers that come to NJ and glassware to buy is a plus. If your in the area I would definitely check it out.

Stopped by a few weeks back with fellow BA timmush. My 1st time there and I wasn't completely blown away. You will not find anything great but they do have a pretty good selection. Some have said you have to really look for something good, they are correct. Cases upon cases on the floor. So unorganized. A place like that at times I would have to question freshness of the beers. No help to be found. Not one person asked us for assistance. The place does carry a lot of different beers so I would go back but I will not expect any help from the useless staff.

Staff is extremely hit or miss. The manager is extremely unkind and unhelpful, but the staff is mostly kids who will help if they know something or at least offer a best guest. A huge isle of beers arranged amazingly by price/style/country/etc. Much improved from a year ago when I first went; they were changing management I think at the time and replenishing their stock. Average prices, above average for the area. Much more warm bottles like 22 oz and 750 ml and have an equal amount of warm and cold 6 packs; just the way it should be in my opinion.

This is my store of choice, being the only place locally I know of that has such a big craft selection. Newly remodeled with bigger refrigerators along the back wall, 2-3 reserved for craft and sam's seasonals.
But I mostly browse the huge craft aisle which is not refrigerated. Lot's of local brews along with most major national outfits. Plenty of every style for the amateur or expert to explore from Belgians to IPA's and RISs. They also have a small vintage selection(mostly DFH).
Prices seem in line with the rest of the region, but they do break down some hard to find beers to singles only and that can get expensive.
Staff is somewhat helpful if you ask but will otherwise let you wander without bothering you, and they are mostly young...not sure if there is a resident "beer guy".
Overall a great place to shop, big selection, decent pricing, and for me a great location. The only place I've been with a better selection and staff is Oak Tree which is just off the charts.
