(Served in a strange)
A- This beer starts as a slow motion gusher that pours a near full glass of off-white foam that sticks to the glass in sheets. There is a clear deep yellow body with a Champagne carbonation.

S- The clean nose has soft field corn notes an dry woody green hop hints in the finish. There is a hint of bee’s wax that grows in the finish aswell.

T- The dry Pils malt is followed by a touch of green bitter, woody hops in the finish. There is a dry candy hint that comes through and a pungent bitter bite in the aftertaste that is enhanced by the carbonation.

M- This beer has a light mouthfeel with a crisp fizz prick.

O- The malt is almost nonexistent and the only real hops is just bitterness but I don’t taste any sulfur or infection. This beer has great drinking potential of it only had a bit more malt flavor.

Poured this German style Pilsener from a 12 oz bottle into a pint glass. Poured a nice hazy golden color, produced a nice white head, above average retention and a nice amount of lacing left on the glass. The aroma consisted of malted grain and some floral hops. Light in body, malted grain base, sweet/bitter, finishes semi dry. Refreshing thirst quencher, decent session beer- a lot more character then a macro brewed lager. I would rather pop a top on one of these then a "Bud" any day.

Poured into a pilsner.

Golden color with a thick white head. Tons of bubbles can be seen rising to the top. The head has nice cratering and lacing. Awesome head retention all the way to the bottom of the glass.

Not too strong of a smell. Noble hops and some malt sweetness.

The flavor is ok. There is a nice malt backbone balanced by the bitering hops.

This beer feels good. It's light bodied, crisp and smooth.

This beer isn't huge on flavors but it's highly quaffable. This would make a great session pilsener.

Never heard of the Griesedieck Golden Pilsner is a decent beer. My neighbor brought some back from down state IL. The beer poured orangish copper with slight haze into my tulip glass. Decent white head that is lace. The smell is almost non-exsistent. Taste starts a bit sharp then relaxes towards the end. Definite hops and barley present. The mouthfeel is good....can't really complain. Is this the best pilsner I ever tried....no...but its good.

Standard small pint glass. Poured golden tan and clear, tons of soft carbonation rising at all times, monster head that lasted forever and left huge, sticky chunks of lacing.

Smell is peppery grains, hops, wheat, not real strong but quite nice.

Taste is softer than you'd expect from the smell, with a great blend of hops bitterness and sweet malts.

Light bodied, plenty of carbonation, and a slightly slick aftertaste.

Overall this is a damn fine beer and I'm going to try to get more of it to drink myself. Great job!

Came across some fresher bottles (@ Liquor Barrell in Benton), so re-reviewing to give it a second try. Poured straight down the middle into a Duvel tulip.
A finger of white foam collects at the top. then leaving a solid ring of drippy lacing. A floating island of skim floats in the middle. Good clarity with a slight haze to the saturated orange beer.

Soft bready aroma, with a mellow sweetness like shortbread or sugar cookie. As it warms there are grassy, floral hop traces.

Straightforward flavors of light apple or pear, soft grainy bread, grassy noble hops. Hits all the style hallmarks and has an overall pleasant character. Soft carbonation, light in body. Very crisp and clean, easily sessionable. Glad I found some fresh bottles of this, it's a solid tasty pilsner.

Purchased at Piasa Winery in Grafton, IL.

Bottle has inkjet "9340" printed on bottom, never got a response from Sand Creek as far as the date. Cool retro label, though it's contract brewed in Black River Falls WI, at Sand Creek.

Voluminous head when poured into a slender stange glass, about 3 fingers width of head. The lace is sticky, and it remains for the duration of the glass. Slightly hazed pale gold, with visible carbonation. Some yeast sediment was present in the bottle, leading me to believe it's bottle conditioned.

Clean grainy pilsner malt nose, slightly tea like.

Firm bitterness in the taste, again similar to tea. Husky grain, dry crackery aftertaste. Reminds me of pre-prohibition "all malt" lagers i've tried before. Clean with no off flavors, with a mild bitterness true to the German tradition. Dry feel with light carbonation. Probably nice in warmer weather, i'll have to revisit a fresher bottle.

Nice to see another pilsner put into the mix.

Produces a massive amount of off white head that retains quite nicely and has a golden clear body.

Aroma is grainy cereal in the way of Grape Nuts, and has what I perceive as a metallic Saaz hops presence.

Has a hearty cereal grain taste, with an ample amount of spicy hops. It does have a kind of tobacco like flavor, but a very interesting trait.

Feels well carbonated and moist to the palate. Overall a pils I'd try again in a heartbeat.

Appearance: Pours a darker golden color with a huge white head with great retention. Steady stream of carbonation can be seen rising from the bottom.

Smell: Fairly light and nothing special. Grain and wheat and a little bit of caramel malt.

Taste: Sweet at first with a bitter hop finish. The wheat and malt fill in nicely in the middle. Kind of a little soapy.

Mouthfeel/drinkability: Very crisp with a light body and some very lively carbonation. Fairly impressive.

12 oz bottle poured into a standard shaker pint glass. Tight and frothy head eeks over the edge of the rim. Good legs on the head and chunky circles of lace clings to the glass. Color is a clear golden straw yellow.

Smell has toasty and husky grain. It has a mild skunk aroma, but more like a cheese than a light strike. Taste is till grainy, but is enhanced by a clean grassy hops.

Mouthfeel is crisp, but has a heavier grainy finish. Overall nice offering. I see this as more of a beer you would have while eating out.

It has a nice gold color the head was nice at first but disappeared quickly only to leave little bit of white lace. This beer also started of hazy but cleared up fast. There are some real tiny bubbles to the body. It has a typical crisp pils aroma nothing overly special. The carbonation bite dies down fast. It has a very clean crisp flavor. The usual macro lager. A little bit grainy aftertaste. Overall not bad.

A - Poured out a somewhat, cloudy, straw-yellow color. It had a two-finger, foamy white head.

S - It smelled of grains and light caramel malt. There was a subtle floral aroma, too.

T - It tasted sweet and of grains. It had a slight hop bite.

M - It was very crisp, fizzy and sharp. A light-bodied beer.

D - This is a very easy drinking pils. Not a great taste but pretty good for the style and sessionable.

Poured from the bottle a slightly hazy straw yellow with a thin, but bright, white head.

Sweet, hoppy aroma pilsner aroma.

The clean taste is follows the aroma with a well balanced combination of the hops and malts. Fruity up front with light breadiness at the finish.

The mouthfeel is clean and tight with moderate carbonation.

I am pleasantly surprised by this pilsner from Griesedieck. In fact, I'd say it's the best pilsner made in St. Louis. Sorry Schlafly.

Nice and golden. Thick foam head that sticks. Lots of smooth, active carbonation.

Nice hoppy and sweet smell.

Spicy and sweet taste. Bright and refreshing. Flowery. Very nice. I haven't had a lot of pilseners but this seems like a very good one to me.

Goes down smooth. Creamy head feels great on the lips.

I could definitely go through 6 of these in a night.

This is a great beer, and reasonably priced ($7 at Dierberg's near St. Louis). The GB Brewery appears to be in High Falls, WI, not St. Louis. It's too bad these old St. Louis beers (like Lemp) aren't actually made in St. Louis, but I hope they come home some day. They do the city proud.

Pours a golden color with a decent amount of carbonation with small beads of foam that slowly fade over time, leaving some lacing down the side of the glass.

Has a flowery aroma from the Saaz hops, which blend nicely with some sweetness from the all-malt base.

The flavor is smooth and well-balanced between hops and malt. The malt has a bit of sweetness, but gives the beer a firm backbone. The hops add a decent amount of bitter spice but not too much to turn one away.

True to its style, this is the best pils I've tried so far. I'm glad the Griesedieck Bros. are back in business, and it's good to see them come out with a pils that's true to its style. A definite MUST.

I found some bottles, and away we go: Clear straw yellow, with a firm white head that generated some sticky laces. Soapy malts in the aroma, and a pleasant taste to boot, not a tasteless crap-light type pilsner. Sharp and crisp with a decent amount of malts. I would not have a problem with a pilsner of this caliber.
