Thanks to drewone for sharing this one at jmgrub's tasting.
Pours an opaque black with a foamy dark khaki head that settles to wisps of film on top of the beer. Small streaks of lace form around the glass on the drink down. Smell is of dark roasted malt, cocoa, cookie dough, wood, and bourbon aromas. Taste is much the same with cocoa, cinnamon, and bourbon flavors on the finish. There is a mild amount of woody bitterness and an alcohol kick on the palate with each sip. This beer has a lower level of carbonation with a slightly crisp and medium bodied mouthfeel. Overall, this is a good beer with a great bourbon smell but the flavors are a bit too astringent in my opinion.

22 oz. bottle poured into a snifter.
Appearance - Black with some edge transparency. Still stains the glass. Medium khaki collar.
Smell - Lots of bourbon. A little nutty. Oaky. Some coffee roasted malt.
Taste - Straight bourbon. Sharp boozy liquor flavor. More chocolate. Bitter and oaky in the finish.
Mouthfeel - Boozy. Medium heavy. Not as rich as I'd like.
Overall - Lots of barrel and liquor. A far cry from regular BORIS, but good.
