650 mL bottle poured into a snifter.
Appearance - Deep amber clear body. Small khaki head. Extremely thin collar.
Smell - Fantastic. Apple and apple pie spices. Cinnamon. Nutmeg. Very faint vanilla and even fainter bourbon.
Taste - I think I get some whiskey, but it's tough to say for sure. Cinnamon comes through up front and I get ginger next. Some malt sweetness.
Mouthfeel - Spice makes it even a little grainy. Slightly sweet, but medium bodied.
Overall - Where's the bourbon! Fantastic smell, though.

A - Very dark murky brown colour with a thin layer of tan coloured head.
S - A huge spice bouquet is present up front with cinnamon and ginger dominating. Some caramel and toffee aromas come through as well but the barrel is non-existent in the nose.
T - Cinnamon, ginger and nutmeg all come through with a big caramel/toffee sweetness from the malt bill. A very light barrel presence shows up in the finish, but I'm not sure I would find it if not looking for it.
M - Medium body. Creamy. Light carbonation.
O - This was a good enough winter warmer but the lack of barrel presence was extremely disappointing, especially given that this was aged in PVW barrels.

Pours a dark mahogany color leaving no head behind which was a mild letdown. Aromas are covered in cinnamon, nutmeg, clove, and mild undertones of bourbon. This is also reminiscent of holiday scented burning sticks. The flavors do not sway far away from what the aromatics suggested. Like one person stated, it is like a gingersnap cookie soaked in a whiskey barrel. The whiskey is a light nuance and the spices are the Christmas season on steroids which doesn’t necessarily mean it is pleasant. There are several missing elements in this beer. It felt as if the brewers poured bourbon directly on top of the regular Frosted Frog beer which is a bit off-putting in terms of cohesiveness. The flavors didn’t simply marry well together here. There is an oily medium body along with a rye malt finish.
