When the King was crowned, fans in his home town of Akron were excited and proud! But his departure left a sour taste in their mouths, making Akron salty about losing their King, and wanting to forget. Now, to honor his return and share these sour and salty feelings, we have brewed a beer to express these feelings in flavor, which was a nearly forgotten style itself! This rare Gose style beer is refreshingly sour and salty, and was nearly forgotten - now its making a come-back, and so is our King!
In today's fast-paced world, its often difficult to find the quality that discriminating people deserve. For those who search for this long lost, undying commitment to the very best, let it be known that one beer wil not be compromised - Hoppin' Frog!

I've been wanting to try something from Hoppin' Frog for a long time but they were all way too expensive for me to just pick one up off the shelf at Csak a Jó Sör in Budapest, Hungary. Then when I finally gathered enough courage (and cash, of course) to buy one, I was unable to find the right one for me there at that shop, as I was looking for a Sour or a Farmhouse or the like but all they had was Porters and Stouts...
But then when I found this (Imperial!) Gose at Beerlovers in Vienna, AT, I knew immediately that this was the one that I was looking for! Just like the princess and the frog in the fairytales, only that I'm not a princess and not even a female... anyways.
I wasn't disappointed by this beer, needless to say. Although I never had an "imperial" gose before, I could guess that it signals the amount of materials put into the brew and hints at the 6% ABV, fairly high for a gose. Some might say that this was not as salty or tarty or funky as a normal gose would be, but for me this Imperial Gose ALE was just great. It had all that a gose had, including the apple cider-like aroma and the sourness, slight herbal and citrusy tones, but at the same time it also managed to be a perfect ALE - let us not forget that this was on the label too! So I enjoyed pouring the next the glass again and again from this 1 pint 22 fl. oz. bomber, a sign that it was really pleasant, easy to drink and exciting.
Hoppin' Frog proved to live up to the expectations for me, I hope our paths cross each other again in the future when this King of the frogs Gose Home. Read the rest of the story on the label...
