pour is transparent deep golems orange, fairly tight white head. The nose isn't overpowering but mostly spice, cinnamon, nutmeg, pumpkin spice light. Hints of grain underneath. Taste has more grain, a light metallic note, reduced spice, light pepper spice. Body is light, high carb, a touch messy. Rather average.

Poured into a snifter on 3/5/12

Thanks, Tony.

The honey orange color has a nice depth and is rather clear. I was able to manage about a finger's worth of soapy foam but it wasn't inclined to stick around. A skim remains, as do some bubbles around the collar. There are a few streaks of lace.

The spices mentioned on the label are easily found - ginger, cinnamon, clove and allspice; but the aroma doesn't stop there. No, no, there are also notes of buttery caramel, candy corn, mildly toasty bread and a faint metallic twinge on the peripheries; a spritz of air freshener, too.

Tastes pretty much like I'd expect based on the nose - trying to turn pumpkin pie into beer and not pulling it off. The plus side is the spices are a bit more downplayed than they could be and the overall trend of the beer is toward the dry side. Baked bread rounds it out. Some alcohol lingers on the back end, but it's not very hot.

Medium feel overall; the body has a more robust center but thin, almost watery outskirts. Weird. It's fairly smooth though having only a marginal agitation from languid carbonation to drag across the old palate. Finishes with spice decay and something plastic.

Frog's Hollow: Hey, at least it ain't Pumking!

The look isn't happening. It's a clearish burnt orange. I got no head whatsoever, maybe a few bubbles.

The smell is what I'm looking for in a pumpkin beer. Not so much the pumpkin but the pumpkin spices. Cinnamon and cloves dominate the nose, but in a good way. There is a maltiness to it that brings balance.

Stellar taste. The spices hit the tongue hard but nothing is offensive. The maltiness shines here too, bringing the same balance to the drink. Kind of bready with some alcohol in the finish.

Not a lot of complexity. Very spice forward. A bit sticky early on but it eases in the swallow.

I could drink this every night and be happy about it. I've had a lot of fall seasonals and this is pretty much spot on for Halloween or Thanksgiving.

Appearance: clear straw colored. Nearly no head at all.
Smell: ummm...pumpkin pie. As advertised, allspice, nutmeg, cloves. Very nice.
Taste: man, this is nice. Like drinking pumpkin pie. All the spices of the nose very nicely balanced.
Overall: one of the best pumpkin brew IMO. This'll be on Thanksgiving table next year.

A-Pours a nice orange color with a quickly fading white head

S-has a pretty decent aroma to it. I am catching a lot of pumpkin and spice and also some yeasty smells as well

T-Has a yam flavor up front followed by some cinnamon in the middle and then finish's with a yeasty dry finish

M-Medium to light bodied with decent carbonation

D-Overall this was a little bit of a let down.. It had alright flavors but i don't think everything came together like they wanted it to.. Its a decent pumpkin ale but there are tons out there that our better. I'm glad to have tried this but i will reach for something different next October.

A- pours an orangish golden brown with minimal foam that immediately disappears

S- incredibly sweet pumpkin smell and yet not overbearing

T- a little sweeter than expected. Too much ginger

M- light body, but a little coarse on the palate

O- wouldn't buy this one again. Too potent with the overly sweet notes
