A moderate pour yielded a finger of head on top of a beautiful copper colored body. Head is cream colored, dissipates in minutes, and clings to the glass nicely, good lacing.

The nose is a hop heads delight. Pine and mandarin oranges are paired with a slight aroma of grapefruits. I also get a floral tone and a bit of malt in the background. Smells fresher than a frog.

Pine and grapefruit are the easiest detectable hop flavors, beyond them there is a nice general bitter, but it kind of melds with a nice floral quality. Sugary sweetness and malt are strong flavors once the beer washes over the tongue.

Medium-bodied beer, it starts out nice and bitter, then comes into a strong sweetness. The end is dry and bitter, but not as much so as it could be. The sweetness in between is a little much for the style though.

Appearance – This is a gorgeous, clear brownish-orange in color with a nice, white head that showed great retention.

Smell – The dry-hopping is clearly evident here. The hop profile is very floral with some light pine but very, very fresh as sold on the label.

Taste – The hops, which I guess are locally-grown, are big at the taste as well. They impart a very different flavor though than hops from the PacNW or East Coast so tamper expectations for something different. The flavor is very raw and nasty and will be especially appreciated by the hard-core hopheads who are always looking for something a little different.

This beer is very floral in its flavor. If you’ve ever eaten fresh flowers you got the idea, and actually the leafy notes are similar to dandelion greens. If you can pick up the malt base then kudos to ya but I find it hard to identify. I can’t stress enough how fresh this beer tastes which is exactly how it is billed on the bottle.

Mouthfeel – This medium-bodied ale is only slightly bitter and has mild carbonation.

Drinkability – I found myself drinking this in gulps and fantasizing about this beer out of a keg or even better yet on cask.

22oz bottle at fridge temp poured into a snifter. no bottling date.

pours out fairly clear, just a little bit of light sediment. a nice deep copper- orange color, about one fingers worth of slightly off white head. some decent head retention and some nice webby lace. looks good.

a nice clean aroma. resinous, pineapple and other such tropical fruits. a little peach, grassy, minty and floral hops as well. just a hint of some light malts behind the hops, almost unoticable.

lots of pine resin and tropical fruits, also some grapefruit citrus, grassy and floral hops. slightly woody a nice light caramel malt kind of rounds things out, but this is totally a hop forward beer. finishes with a nice lingering
bitterness. just a hint of alcohol heat noticable.

a nice clean feeling medium bodied. juicy, resiny feel.

a pretty decent offering. not really sure the freshness on the bottle, but it still has lots of solid hop flavors. i could see drinking this again. i look forward to more hoppin frog stuff as this was my first.

This beer is a pale orange color with a yellowish head that rests at about a finger in height. Retention is good and lacing is dropped in thin but plentiful patches.
The hops are a mix of pine and citrus on the nose with the leafy/green rawness I'd expect from it and a bit of grassiness as well. Malts offer a bit of balance and a touch of sweetness to cut the edge.
The same goes for the flavor. Malts balance well but not perfectly, and this beer shows plenty of pine and citrus bitterness with the grassy edge and rawness that many harvest ales boast. I'm sure the malts come out and mellow this beer a bit with age, but this is fresh.
The mouthfeel seems a little light, but a light creaminess adds just a little heft to it. Crispness is also light but present, and it's moderately carbonated.

22 oz poured into snifter

A: very dark copper colored very little head nice little ring around the glass left great retention on the glass it's clingy

S: smells like honey, melon cantaloupe, honeydew, a little toffee on the finish

T: very smooth overripe fruit with the honey use cantaloupe taste, a very little pine on the finish but finishes like a nice fruit

M: it coats the mouth but doesn't cling too much nice feel lingering aftertaste

O: very good beer, really wish I would have grabbed another wet hopped with Citra as far as my tastes buds can tell. Very beautiful honey and sweet cantaloupe taste reminiscent of GLBC Alchemy Hour. if you get a chance get this in you.

Very good fresh hop taste, almost vegetable. Very drinkable for a hop fan, but not in a DIPA mode with 45 IBU. Good for an IPA. A little citrus taste. Might have been better in the first couple of months. Thanks Steve for hooking me up.Fuller mouthfeel.

22oz bomber, secret santa 2011

appearance: served in a tyranena nonic pint, nice full amber-orange body, 1/4" white foam with some webbed lacing

smell: nice dry hop presence, pine, tangerine and other mild citrus

taste: pretty unique - like drinking a bouquet of fresh flowers, dandelion greens, bright citrus flavors - tangerine, blood orange, white grapefruit. Very green, a touch tropical and quite delicious

mouthfeel: oily, medium body, low bitterness

overall: good stuff

Pours a wonderful golden copper with a thin off white head. Has a wonderful aroma of fresh picked hops right off the vine. (not overwhelming of citrus or pine resin but quite nice.) taste is very balanced between malt and hops. While not as bitter as a traditional DIPA/IMPA it is quite enjoyable. Definitely worth a try.

On tap at Hoppin' Frog Brewery in Akron, OH.

This one pours a dark orange-ish amber, with a foamy, long lasting head, and a good amount of sticky lacing.

Smells pretty hoppy, as expected, some pine, marijuana, candied citrus, and caramel malt.

This is slightly messy, but still tasty anyway. The malt character comes through a little bit too strongly for me, but the hop flavor is definitely strong, with lots of pine and dank qualities, and some candied sweet citrus, grapefruit and pineapple, mainly.

This is medium bodied, slightly syrupy, with a moderate level of carbonation.

Not too bad, but not amazing.

clear amber with an ample white head about two inches tall. This faded and left behind a ton of lace. Good visible carbonation.

Very hoppy, lots of very sweet citrus flavors. A touch of sugar and some malted grains in the backend of it. Very nice, and very hoppy. Had a very clean, cut taste. Not much of an aftertaste here, just straightforward hoppy pale ale. Nice grain fresh cut grass in the back. Silky smooth, albeit a little thin, but very smooth. Again very clean and refreshing, light.

A big entry in the American Pale Ale category - lots of hops and a solid malt base have this beer knocking on the double IPA door. Straight away the hops pop with citrus and a background of pine. Slides a little toward the sweet side with barest stickyness to the malt. A little bit of raw hops oils emerge toward the finish, but play well with the rest of the party.
