Some say “bigger is better!”. At Hoppin’ Frog, we built a massive hop dam to handle the enormous amount of hops added to this colossal American Triple I.P.A. An intense experience of citrus and piney hop character is complemented by layers of rich malt flavor. Behold our new standard for hoppy beers.

I was excited to try this out as IPAs and double IPAs are dominating my beer purchases over the past few years. Never having tried a triple IPA I wasn't quite sure what to expect. I also enjoy the pumpkin ale from this brewer. The appearance of this beer is very intriguing with a murky dark orange appearance, with a healthy contingent of particulate matter and with exceptional sticky lace of an off white color. The aroma is less Pliny like and more Wonder bread than I would have expected. The taste is notable for alcohol, the aforementioned bread, pepper, and some hop bitterness coming through. The mouthfeel is resiny as you might have expected with triple hopping. This ain't bud light. Overall I enjoyed this beer and I would love to try this on draft sometime.

I liked this quite a bit but for the price it doesn't compare to other IPAs in the price range. It really is good just seems like a lot of effort to come up with a good not great IPA.

12oz bottle poured into a pint glass
A: Burnt orange with a thin head
S: Tons of citrus/grass/herbs, all hops
T: Matches the nose up front - tons of hops with some caramel/malt underneath
M: Full-bodied, bitter
O: A nice TIPA though pricey compared to others on the market

22oz bottle served in a large snifter. I don't see a date. Given to me by @mr-jj.
Pours a clear reddihs amber, moderaely dark, with a very small head, and a very small amount of carbonation. Smell is barleywine, malt and alcohol -- a little cherry or apricot. Some fruity aroma.
Taste is powerfully bitter -- wow! Like chewing on hops (which I've done)! Hard to get much else in the flavor -- but there's some honeysuckle, it's not lacking in sweetness, there's just so much bitter.
Mouthfeel is smooth, dry, but super sticky. Overall, it's a good beer, but you better be in love with hops.
