22oz bomber bought on sale from Binny's
A: Pours out thick, as thick a beer I've seen in some time. Puts KBS to shame in terms of viscosity if that counts for anything. Black as motor oil and topped with a decent sized, half and inch worth of bubbly, chocolaty brown head.
S: Pretty seriously hopped, reminds me of Nightstalker. Pineapple and other fancy tropical and sweet fruits
T/MF: Softly carbonated with the massive doses of hops providing a lot of traction on the tongue that otherwise would be lacking in this beer. Taste is sort of difficult to describe for me, other than that I can say it seems like a more abrasive Nightstalker, has sort of the character of a black IPA in the beginning stages then moving into licorice/baker's chocolate bitterness. Given a bit of time to warm this beer takes on a sweeter character, a bit of a buttery chocolate, maybe a bit of coffee and cream mixed in with this unrelenting hoppiness.
D: Hmmmm, not really sure how I feel about this beer. The hops seem to be a bit too forward and appear to cover up the "stoutier" aspects of this beer. Things just are not gelling with me like I would have liked it too. Can't really say I'd give this beer another chance, even if to cellar, unless it was on sale again. I will say one thing about the beer though, it certainly don't feel as big as it portends to be.

Pours thick viscous dark black in color with a thin tan head.
Smell has aromas of dark chocolate, roasted malt, lots of oaky wood aromas and some hints of vanilla licorice and bourbon.
Taste has rich moderately sweet roasted chocolate malt forward with a big wood presence that follows with notes of vanilla. Lots of booze, charcoal and possibly hop bitterness in the end.
Mouthfeel is super thick with low carbonation leading to this coating the mouth with loads of booze, and charred woody bitterness.
