Unremarkable. Thick and heavy, but lacks any intensity of flavor.

1100th review. Beer was poured into a large snifter.

Appearance: A one finger mocha head was poured that reduced to a thin layer. It is a pitch black color with no vision of anything.

Smell: Toasted, roasted coffee, earthy, chocolate, sweet and bready oats, smoke, caramel, booxy alcohol, and leather.

Taste: Milk chocolate, coffee, caramel, raisins, dark fruits, tobacco, ash, roasted, bready oats, and nice warm alcohol.

Mouthfeel: Silky smooth, full bodied, medium carbonation, a dipper, got better as it warmed, and dome nice warm boozy alcohol.

Overall: Oh man. Great choice for another rating landmark. Review #1100 will be memorable and enjoyed. Might have to get another bottle to age in the pantry.

A: Pours a viscous black sludge. The head resembles the thick dark brown foam that sits a top a shot of espresso. Opaque with no visible carbonation. Minor amount of lace.

S: Intense notes of roasted malt including chocolate and coffee. Earthy and nutty with notes of dark dried fruit including figs. A mild amount of hop bitterness.

T: Roasted malt with notes of espresso, dark chocolate, and nuts. Sweeter notes of raisins. The finish is long, dry and resembles the bitterness of an espresso soaked lemon rind. What a transition.

M: Thick and chewy. Velvety smooth.

O: This stout is big, but super drinkable. The booze is extremely well hidden on nose and palate.

A - Pours engine oil black, no head, and no lacing- pretty much looks like the dead sea with
an oil slick.

S - Dark chocolate roast aroma, dark fruit, light char, dark molasses, light alcohol.

T - Follows the nose, plum, sweet dark chocolate roast, dark molasses, light charcoal, some
and coffee, oak, and alcohol effervescence.

M - Full medium body, rich, robust, sticky, viscous.

O - A very solid stout.

Pitch black, small mocha brown head, quick to a long lasting lace.
Rich smell of salty dark chocolate, burnt toffee, molasses, rich roasted malts with robust coffee bean notes, faint cherries, cigar, toasted wood chips, really intense, strong.
Taste is very different than the smell. Starts with a juicy dark fruit zing, with cherries, blueberry, dark grapes and some fig, drenched in booze, reminding of bourbon. Citrus undernote too. Dark chocolate splashed with some caramel, a bit of toffee, butterscotch, licorice. It's quite crisp, surely from the extra hops, with a "black IPA"ish bitterness in the finish, along with warm alcohol and lingering sweet dark fruit.
The big stout notes flourish in the aftertaste, after the hops fade, with a rich roasted maltiness, cigar, salt, bit of dark chocolate. Medium body and carbonation, quite "wet" and not that smooth.
This was good, but i wanted more of the salty dark roast and chocolate from the smell in the taste. Strong, hoppy, tasty, easy to drink for a "Destroyer", until it gets quite a bit boozy.
