This looked impressive just by looking at the bottle. Grabbed on and opened it up later that night. This beer poured out as a really nice looking black color with a brown colored foamy head on top. The smell of the beer is damn near perfect... It's got a wonderful aroma of roasted chocolaty malts blended with the big lively hops that are used in there too. The taste is right up there with the nose. A stunning combo of hops mixed with dark malts for one of the most impressive and balanced black IPA's I've ever had. The mouthfeel is nicely carbonated with a creamy body to it. Overall this beer is really good in my opinion. I am very impressed and I could enjoy this one again and again.

A - Black body, opaque, with brown highlights, small foam head, light tan, with sheets of lacing.

S - The nose is full of hops, pine and resin, a bit of dankness.

T - Open is bright, pine and citrus, a middle with dark fruit and chocolate notes, and a bitter finishing snap.

M - Moderate carbonation, full body, just a touch slick, and a dry scrubbing close.

O - I love black IPAs, and this one is particularly satisfying. I wish I could find this more often.

This beer is amazing! A lovely blend of hops and malt. There should definitely be more beer like this in the world but this style is surprisingly pretty rare. Great work to my favorite brewing co.

a: dark, silky black color with a large 2 finger frothy off-white head

s: roasted malt, oak, pine bitterness, apricot, strawberry, and a hint of brown sugar

t: chocolate and pine upfront followed by some dank apricot. after that comes the roasted malt (and a little bit of bitterness from that), sweet caramel, and a little alcohol tinge

m: medium mouthfeel, but very light on the carbonation. personally i feel its a tad undercarbonated

o: i think this is good, not great. with regards, its lacking a bit on the 'stout' side of the style. a little more roasted malts would be nice, right now it seems to lean a bit too much towards IPA instead an even split. as mentioned also, i feel its a bit undercarbonated in the mouth. nothing offensive, however its just falls short on a few things

75cl bottle. Dark brown pour with a medium height tan head. Smells like caramel, pine, milk chocolate, milk coffee. Smooth mouthfeel with a very well balanced taste. Notes of milk chocolate, coffee, bitter hops, pine resin and some nice roasted malts in the aftertaste. Excellent.
