Pours black with light tan head.
Smell is toasted malts and coffee. Roasted nuts.
Taste is dark toasted malts. Bittersweet chocolate and coffee. Moderate bitterness late.
Mouthfeel is light bodied. Light carbonation.
Overall this is good. I am always dissappointed with the thinness of porters but this was good for the style.

I was orinally draw to this beer by the claim of it being a coffee porter. I've had plenty of stouts brewed with coffee, but its not every day you find a porter. I've had many of Hoppin Frogs other offerings and have never been disappointed.
This one is no different. A very dark porter when poured. You then get blasted with coffee smell. The same goes for the first taste. Coffee is squarely in the forefront of this brew. The 'Cafe' taste fades and goes on to a familiar Porter malty taste.
This one definitely ranks up there. My wife (who doesn't drink too regularly) actually liked it enough she ordered her own. She loves the coffee tastes but a Stout is usually just too heavy for her. She tasted this and said it was just right for her with it being a bit lighter as a Porter.

Serving Type - 22oz bottle
Appearance - Dark black with a nice foamy, tan 1 inch head, tons of lacing.
Smell - Huge coffee aroma. Nuts, smokey malts. Coffee is really overpowering.
Taste - As expected, up front punch of coffee at first sip. Not as aggressive as the smell lead me to believe, the coffee is nice and smooth, lighty sweet, smokey and nutty. Caramel malts add a really nice sweet flavor. Some chocolate along with some raisins and dates come out near the finish to eliminate any bitterness from the coffee.
Mouthfeel - The tongue gets the coffee, smokey malts and nut flavor, where the palate gets the sweet flavors of the malts, along with dark fruits and chocolates. Aftertaste is a mix of coffee and caramel malts.
Overall - Really nice beer. This is really balanced, smooth and easy to enjoy, even for a non coffee drinker like me. Has a great coffee bite mix with sweet malts and chocolate. Excellent beer, a great variation to silk porter, and I will be drinking this again.
