Crisp and satisfying American I.P.A. with a skillfully assertive American hop aroma & flavor. Bright spicy citrus hop character up front, with a distinct orange & tropical fruit hop bouquet to add a welcome complexity & strike the perfect balance. It’s all about the hops with Gangster Frog I.P.A.

Taster at taproom. Dark, clear golden pour, filmy head, solid lacing. Malty aroma, fruity. Taste continues with toasty malts, toffee, sweetness, dry, mild bittering hops.

L: Hazy amber. Oily looking on top. Moderate carbonation with frothy lacing. Unfiltered with floaties. Judging by how the floaties smear on the glass, I'd say they are hop pellets. I am insulted to pay top dollar for an IPA made with pellets.
S: Citra hops. An overpowering amount of mango, papaya, pineapple.
T: Very bitter. Citrus notes are overwhelmed by piney, oily, and resiny mouthfeel instead.
F: Heavyweight and delivers a buzz.
O: It's pretentious. Price set aside, it's done nicely. Perfect as advertised? No.

On draft locally near the brewery in Ohio. Good looking pour, copper hued with a decent head that clung to the glass nicely. Plenty of citrusy hop on the nose with to earthy vegetal tone. Packs a nice punch with a flavor profile that mixed the stone fruits like nectarine with the citrusy fruits like mandarin orange all with the pine balancing it out. Finished well with a balance of bitterness and a touch of malt.

I've had this one a little too long, but none the less, it was pretty dang good, it had to grow on me? Had a nice dark orange, hazey color and a funky fruit smell. I was not sure of the taste at first but it got better too! More malty than hops , could be the age? I will try again fresh if I can find another one.
