Appearance - This came out a muddled yellow in color and not very attractive but did sport a nice, white head.

Smell - The rough grain is the only thing I can find in this nose.

Taste - The grain was just as bad at the taste. It was putrid and left a lingering, almost rotten kind of aftertaste. I found some light sugar in there towards the end but it wasn't very inviting.

Mouthfeel - This is light-bodied with little carbonation.

Sinkability - This was a notch below blah.

Had this while on tour in Atlanta, bought on base in a 20(?) ounce bottle. Poured it assuming I'd experience an imperial flavor, but was met with nothing more than ale style flavor and mouthfeel. A let down, and couldn't even finish the bottle it tasted so bad; switched to Stella after 1/4 of the bottle, and dumped it down the drain. Will never buy this again, but then again maybe some more refined palates find something redeemable in this swill.

Looked fantastic after the pour: a golden yellow-orange color with a big, white, fluffy head that bubbled down very slowly to a lace across the whole top of the beer. The smell was decent, a bit of grassy hops and a lot of bready malts. I was not much of a fan of the taste: up front is was the bready malts again, plus some other grainy tastes, which to me was kind of bland. There was some hoppiness at the end, but it was more of a small fizzle of taste rather than a compliment. It was somewhat sweet, but in a way that left the beer feeling a little too heavy and syrupy for me, despite the thin and well carbonated mouthfeel. All in all, I think there are a lot better Czech pilseners out there.

A: The beer pours a pale golden straw color with a short lived white head.

S: Corn and skunk to start things off with a bit of sugar and candy. There's a light vegetal note as well as some garbage and sulfur. Somewhat grainy with a bit of grass and straw.

T: Quite sweet with some sulfur and corn. Grain husks and grass with a definite astringency. There's a light bitterness to it as well as some very mild hop notes. Only a mild skunkiness.

M: Light to medium in body with a medium level of carbonation.

O: Sweet and grainy. Not really my cup of tea.

22 oz from total wine I think.

A - Pours light amber in color with no head.

S - Honey, buttery, with malts.

T - Honey and bittering hops.

M - Too much bite from the saaz hops. A little too astringent for my palate.

D - Might want to rethink the recipe.

Standard clear gold and a nice head. Smell is grassy-grain, metallic, with a vegetable-skunkiness to it. Taste is grainy, but fairly bland from what you would expect from the style. Below average in this crowded and poorly represented style. I think these beers need to be sampled fresh, closer to the brewery. Getting shipped across the Atlantic doesn't do much to improve this style, IMO.

Format: a standard 330mL brown bottle with a pretty standard Euro macro label.

Appearance: looks like a cheap lager too. No head either

Aroma: smells of sweet malts and a touch of hops. A bit cheap.

Taste: tastes like it smells. A fairly poor-quality Euro lager.

Aftertaste: lingers for a short period before fading. Fair for a lager.

Mouth feel: moderate in body with a moderate carbonation. Feels a bit flat.

Overall: there are better lager / pilsner beers available in this price range. I don't think I'll be bothering with this one again.

Golden color with a head that didnt last long and left no lacing. Smells of grain and bread with a very faint carmel smell. Taste starts smooth and has a very bitter and heavily carbonated end with some pine and citrus flavors. Over all it has a sour taste that I didnt enjoy.

A- Pours a two finger head after rigorous pour. Light golden color that leaves moderate lace.

S- Almost like that of a bud light but with a little wheat added to it.

T- Not bad but not great. A light taste of wheat and bread.

M- Fairly watery with fair carbonation. Feel like basic american macro fair.

D- Kinda high as it is more or less water.

Not bad for a $2 bottle of beer but not up to par with what I enjoy.

Situation: Add-in on a Shop-Rite Liquors trip--tough to pass up stand-alones that are under two bucks!
Glassware: 23 oz. pilsener...
Appearance: thin golden body, light effervescence, with a thin iced tea head that shifts in unison with its body--odd...
Aroma: subdued, light ping of Saaz; not as pungent as Czech or Polish varieties often are...some fruity notes too...
Palate: thin, watery body that projects a bit gassy, but overall quite a basic, predictable mouthfeel...
Taste: plain, pleasant compliment to food--like these nachos--but rather nondescript...not corny, but lacking the malts necessary to bring a fuller profile...
Overall: finishes as it starts, rather predicatbly but not awfully, while avoiding the butt some pilsners in green bottles will peddle...

Bottle into pokal Two finger off white head

light amber

Grassy, malty, pilsner smell

Waited till the head settled

Taste: Dry and metallic! Second sip: malty and metallic

Mouthfeel: Way too watery!!!! :(

This is a pretty beer, but largely unremarkable! I was expected something refreshing! But, this is no Budweiser Budvar! Furthermore, I had heard this was better on tap! But, I won't be seeking this out.

Pours nice amber colour with no/little head.
Not very strong smell, mostly grassy and hoppy.
Taste pretty much same as nose, grassy with a little bitterness. I didn't really like the finish though, it's like almoust too bitter.
Kinda drinkable beer with medium carbonation.

Overall, it's not bad, i would have it again on ocasion, but I'm a bit dissapointed with it, because this brewery has much better choices.

Yellow with foamy bubbly white head. A bit beery aroma. Average drinkability, the mouthfeel is a tad grainy, dry and rough but one can get through it.I think those who expect this to be an imperial pilsner as opposed to a pilsner maybe a tad disapointed.

Pours a nice golden color with a moderate head. However, the lace retention is not so good as it disappears entirely halfway through.
A grassy, malt and hops aroma. Towards the end of the drink there is a slight sweet and alcohol quality.
I was actually impressed by the taste at first. I was hit with a bold hop and herbal flavor. However, the finish left a bitter and burnt lingering after taste that was not pleasant. Maybe it was skunked or not fresh? Pretty disappointing.

Poured from a 16.9oz bottle into a US tumbler pint glass.

A: The beer is a light gold color, with a short foamy white head that fades slowly and leaves a thick lace on the glass.

S: The aroma contains lager yeast, light caramelized malts, a good amount of hops and some honey.

T: The taste starts out bready with flavors of lager yeast and a thin malt character. Then a mild but odd hops bitterness bite comes in. There is very little sweetness and not much balance. The after-taste is bready and slightly bitter.

M: Crisp and but not very smooth, medium body, medium carbonation, finish is dry and slightly sticky.

O: Not very tasty, goes down ok, not too filling, mild kick, decent representation of style, there are definitely other beers in the style that I would pick first.

Krusovice Imperial....on tap at Karczma in Greenpoint, Brooklyn

Appearance-pale gold with a large white head, served in a large European style mug, striking gold with a mixture of darker colors.

Smell-light aroma, hints of grain, mild hop, alcohol fumes, adjuncts.

Taste/Mouthfeel-grainy taste, heightened alcohol fumes, somewhat muddled, slightly heavier flavor than most of this style.

Drinkability-no major issues but not great. Somewhat muddled.

Overall-not a great beer, inoffensive at best. Once the novelty wears off there isn't much left.

Probably a less than average beer per style. Partly due to the dangerously-near skunk aroma that eminates from the bottle and into the glass. Even with a typical pale straw color and abundance of carbonation, the beer lacks promise early and often. Flavors turn out sweet but quickly follow up with a grainy bite, lemony astringency, and a watery body. Hop flavor does, however, subsite into a grassy, earthy character, but never improves the beer to good levels. Not necessarily a bad beer, but does not deliver for me.

My friend Matt was on a journey 'round the world (England, Greece, Iceland, Germany, Czechoslovakia, etc.), and of all the beers he could bring me from those few great brewing countries, he brings me this sekačka pivo (which, according to my online translator, is Czech for "lawnmower beer"). That said, it was quite warm enough for me yesterday, and I had spent way too much time trying to tame my nephew's at the county fair. So it worked.

Appearance: Those crazy Czechs have got the pee-pee chic of American macro lagers nailed. Put that side by side with Bud, Coors, or the urine sample that someone had put in an apple juice bottle and stuck in the squadroom fridge on that episode of "Hill Street Blues", and you'd be hard pressed to say what was what.

Smell: It's there, but it's reluctant. That weird funky lager yeast smell that I find difficult to label in terms other than "gym sock", and a very faint grassiness from the hops.

Taste: Lager-y. Nothing to differentiate this from a Rainier (although, truth be known, I'd rather have the Rainier). Slight malt backbone that is overwritten by the gym sock yeast, and zero hop presence.

Mouthfeel: A bit thick, actually. Too thick for the style, and it didn't warm up well.

Drinkability: Drink it fast and furious on a summer day after an assload of yard work, and this would be perfect. That said, you can get a half-rack of Rainier for about $7, which is probably quite a bit cheaper than the plane ticket to Czechoslovakia. Although, if you're going to go there for this specific beer, then my admonitions about Rainier will fall on deaf ears.

Had it on tap on a hot day at a local Restaurant in Salem MA. At best I can say it was pretty average. It certainly wasn't the worst beer in the world I've ever had, but it wasn't that good either. It was a lot more Pale than I expected especially to use the term Imperial. It did not have a strong aroma, you could smell some hop notes to it. I was very disappointed with the overall flavor, again because they use the term Imperial. I found it very bland. Like I said it was a hot day and it was a cold beer so it was was refreshing enough for me to consider the mouth feel and drinkablility to be average.

Pours clear gold yellow with a 1 finger foamy white head; lacing was pretty lame.

Smells of grains, malt, grass and a bit metallic; very weak nose overall.

Tastes of malt, grains, faint hops, grass, yeast/bread, lemon and a metallic finish, which is very bitter. Very average taste, which I hate to label this way, but it seems to be lumped in with all the other basic Euro-macro lagers.

Mouthfeel is light and crisp, with high carbonation and a light watery feel to it.

High drinkability which flows down easy, but the flavor's so basic that it's almost too boring to drink all night. Not good, not bad, just a decent basic beer.

On tap, poured into a stein. The aroma is sweet lemon, muffin dough, a hint of spice, a mild light honey, and a touch of barnyard. The beer is a clear, brilliant gold with a white, light foam head that has okay retention and light lace. The taste is a medium bitter and light sweet. It's oily and waxy with a fizzy carbonation and a light body. Flavors of cornbread, minerals, and dough are noted with a finish that's crisp and clean with a light spice. The aftertaste is cloying with waxy bitter stone fruit and minerals.

Brown 500ml bottle, poured into a 'Veltins' branded stemmed 0.2 litre tulip shaped glass. My favourite lager/pilsner glass was filled three times by this beer and on each pour it looked and sounded lively.

Mid-range light golden pilsner colour, thin white which left a weak collar on each pour and very quickly too. The head let it down badly in my opinion.

Very little aroma to report on, hay, grass and not a lot of anything really, gets my regular 3 for a non-smelling lager/pilsner.

Tangy feel, but no body or flavours to rise it above plenty of other 'run of the mill' pilsners available anywhere and everywhere around the world.

Seemed better on tap in Prague. In my dining room it was just another beer for me to review and try as I did, no redeeming features came to its rescue, this is a bog standard pilsner!

12 oz portion of a 16.9 oz bottle poured into a czech pilsner.

A - piss like BMC lager color, no head to speak of save for a thin off-white halo on the meniscus of the beer.

S - grass, corn, other grains, and a slight, (slight!) fruitiness (at least I think so)

T - corn, straw, grass, metal. It seems like a less shitty BMC taste. Not great, but very drinkable.

M - awful

D - if I wanted to get drunk, this would be something to drink. it goes down easy, it's not filling, and it doesn't taste awful like other macro lagers.

Appearance: Pours a deep golden body with a sizeable, foamy white head.

Smell: Grassy, lemony aroma that's flawed by a terribly strong soapy perfuminess.

Taste: Faintly sweet, bready malts with a showing of flowery hop bitterness. Quite crisp.

Mouthfeel: Thin, watery body with a mild carbonation.

Drinkability: Let's never, ever speak of this again.
