Deep gold in colour with a finger of white head. Head falls to a thin cap, but leaves some lacing.

Fresh grain smell, quite light in the aroma department. A spiciness that I can't pin down is in there as well.

A little weak in the malt, kinda cracker like. Hops seem a bit soapy, and leave a strong shampoo like aftertaste. Not my thing. Gets better as it goes, taste evens out, malt starts to balance things.

Average pilsners mouthfeel. A little too sharp in carbonation, and the body is quite light. Not watery, but not satisfying.

Wouldn't buy it again, but wouldn't really avoid drinking it.

12 oz portion of a 16.9 oz bottle poured into a czech pilsner.

A - piss like BMC lager color, no head to speak of save for a thin off-white halo on the meniscus of the beer.

S - grass, corn, other grains, and a slight, (slight!) fruitiness (at least I think so)

T - corn, straw, grass, metal. It seems like a less shitty BMC taste. Not great, but very drinkable.

M - awful

D - if I wanted to get drunk, this would be something to drink. it goes down easy, it's not filling, and it doesn't taste awful like other macro lagers.

New beer club @ trackside liquor store, this is one of july's offerings.

Nice, rich golden amber, perfectly clear with a rich, foamy head.

Slightly spicy, floral hoppiness with a prominent grainy maltiness.

Sharp hop bite with aforememtioned grainy malt. Not quite in balance, but decent for a Czech Pil.

Medium bodied and quite smooth after the initial hop bite.

Decent pilners, will probably quaff a few of these while in stock this July.

Pours pale golden yellow with a decent white head and slight lacing.

Smell is sweet and grainy with very slight hops.

Taste is mild bready malt with a crisp, grassy dry finish.

Mouthfeel is light but acceptable.

Drinkable, but not outstanding. Finish has more bitterness than the nose lead me to believe and really helps the flavor profile. Worth a try.

Appearance: Pours a deep golden body with a sizeable, foamy white head.

Smell: Grassy, lemony aroma that's flawed by a terribly strong soapy perfuminess.

Taste: Faintly sweet, bready malts with a showing of flowery hop bitterness. Quite crisp.

Mouthfeel: Thin, watery body with a mild carbonation.

Drinkability: Let's never, ever speak of this again.

Served from a 16.9 oz bottle into an SA Lager glass.

Pours an unattractive dirty brass, with a nice white finger head. Head hangs around for a while before remaining as a nice floating film. Nose is grainy - pretty faint.

Taste is a bit metallic, but a nice lager flavor lies underneath. Fairly biting carbonation, with some stickiness afterwards.

This is a nice session beer - but other than that it doesn't really offer anything. It's actually quite filling.

Golden yellow. Few bubbles. Decent white foam.
Quite good smell, fresh, of hop. Malt present, though. Overall, a pleasant smell.
Pleasant and fresh in the taste, too, and here the hop prevails. Good bitterness. Malt still present. Quite balanced. But in a pils, I'd prefer more hop.
In the aftertaste, again, after a good grassy hop, there is a comebacking of some maltiness.

500ml bottle. Pokal glass. Enjoyed several times since 2005. Deep golden color. White, small size bubbled froth. Close & lasting crown. Lacing rings on sides. Sweet mildy malt aroma, sulphur hints. Gentle bitter upfront. Malty palate. Slightly peppery in the middle, subtle astringency. Dry hoppy finish.Light body, soft carbonation.

Pours a clean straw yellow color with a white head. Aromas os sweet malt and somewhat fruity, like green apples. In the taste, small fruitiness (green apples) that goes from sweet to dry. A smooth mouthfeel and a dry fruity aftertaste. Light on the palate and refreshing.

A - poured from a 500ml bottle into glass. The beer is amber in color and the head dissipates very quickly.

S - very metallic with light citrus notes

T - first sip is nice, tastes grainy, however becomes increasingly metallic thereafter

M - nice carbonation, smooth

D - okay

It's a decent beer. Has strong metallic element similar to what I remember a Heineken tasting like, but much better. Would recommend trying out.

500 ml bottle

Pours slightly hazed golden with a decent head that all too soon becomes a patch. The lasting ring does leave trailing lace.

The smell is of some "Euro-skunk" that soon settles revealing some sweet graininess (though not the "grassiness" that I expected for style) and some traces of mettalic notes (overboiled hops?)

The taste is of sweet malt balanced by subtle, rather sharp - almost metallic - hops. If it were not for a remote grassy/subtle Saaz (or Saaz-like) hops, I would have this confused with a standard EPL. Euro-lager matliness rule over the hops. Not bad tasting - but, nothing special - and hardly anything about the flavor to stand out over a long line of boring Euro-lagers. There is a bit of fading dryness in the finish.

The feel is thin, though not a total wreck. Enough to be mediocre and give the impression of having a beer rather than water.

Well, it's refreshing so could fit with the "hot-day" category...but there are so many of those...This fits in with the boring, though not bad, Euro lager category.

500ml bottle bought from The Vineyard, Belfast...

Poured a medium gold / orange colour... White head disappeared almost instantly...

Aroma - Pretty non-existent. Can just about make out some hops and some saltiness. Also some metallic notes...

Taste – Some hop bitterness, some nuttiness, salty, very light malts...

Feel - Quite sharp. Medium bodied. Pretty drinkable...

Overall - A very average beer... worth a try maybe once....

This pours a clear golden yellow color with a fizzy white head. The scent is sweet and malty with little hints of citrus added. The taste is sweet and grainy. The texture is smooth and light but could use some improvement. It finishes a little chewy and chalky. This is an overall average Czech Pilsner.

A: Pours clear golden with a large white fluffy head that dissipates after some time, leaving a little lace.

S: Bready malt, lots of citric notes - floral hops. Faint sweetness.

T: Bready malt, some faint citric notes. A bit to light in taste for my taste...

M: Body is medium and the carbonation is rich. Rather short-lived aftertaste - a bit sweet and bitter.

D: A descent Czech Pilsener, it goes down smoothly, but there are better ones out there.

Poured from the bottle into a pint glass, beer is a perfectly clear, golden-yellow color with a one-finger, white soapy head. Looks just like a Pils should. The smell is a mix of gentle Saaz and slightly sweet, grainy malt. The flavor is similar with the sweet, grainy malt flavor coming to the forefront with a slightly bitter Saaz backbone. The mouthfeel is light in body with adequate yet not agressive carbonation. The finish is smooth but very slightly bitter. Overall a drinkable beer, better than your average BMC but nothing special.

Decent beer. Poured with a medium sized white head that soon disappears and a tiny bit of lace. Color is a bright, very clear, yellow gold. Aromatics of hops, malt, a little spice and beer. Flavor's the same more bittersweet. Fully carbonated. Clean and refreshing. Ok body. Finish is good with a typical Czech pale lager. Definitely a session beer. Got this bottle at Sam's in Chi.

BB 04/05/09, served chilled in a pint-size weizen glass.

A: pours a dark orangey golden hue, coming with a lively carbonated body and a decent, thick white frothy head that settles slowly to a thin cap and leaves dirty lacing all over.
S: syrupy honey-ish and creamy malts abound, laced with random hints of sweet lemon, grassy hops, faint sweetness almost like melted caramel on sweet peanuts. Not demanding, good body, slightly too sweet for the balance but manageable on the nose.
T: quite light actually... the moderately-flavoured malty theme lands rather light from almost the rear of the palate to accompany a hollow middle sprinkled with boiled veggie and random hints of grassy taste of Saaz. Light and slightly sour/metallic/plastic in the aftertaste (due to pasteurisation I guess?), without enough bitterness that a really good pilsner tends to show in the most balanced manner. That said, in the long end a semi-aromatic chewy palate almost like semi-fermented tea (e.g. Taiwanese ooh-long) creeps up, adding belated yet always welcomed extra pleasure to the overall performance.
M&D: easy to drink as the fizziness comes quite ideal, neither artificially fizzy nor too harsh, but it is actually too light-bodied and lightly-flavoured for a 5%abv. Svetle Lezak. Very different from the draught version I tried in Southern Bohemia four years ago.

Bottled 12/11/13.

Pours a clear golden orange with a foamy beige head that settles to a partial film on top of the beer. Small dots of lace form around the glass on the drink down. Smell is of intense skunk that eventually dissipates somewhat, malt, grain, and grass aromas. Taste is much the same with grain and grass flavors on the finish. There is a very mild amount of hop bitterness on the palate with each sip. This beer has a lower level of carbonation with a slightly crisp mouthfeel. Overall, this is an above average beer that is drinkable, but the initial skunk aroma coming from the bottle is quite potent and never quite goes away.

The beer is a golden color with a white head. The head faded pretty quickly for me. I could smell a light grassy/hoppy aroma. I couldn't pick up much of a malt flavor when I tasted it. The hops came out in the aftertaste, with a strong (but good) hoppy, grassy flavor. I felt like there was a bit of a creamy texture to the beer, which I didn't expect but found pleasing.

16.9 oz bottle, blank born by date on back.

Pours a deep, rich gold with decent head. Diminishes fairly fast, with minimal lacing. Low carbonation as well, bubbles were gone very quick.
Initial aroma of lemons, and sweetness. Followed by a sweet, tart taste, but after its down, leaves an earthy, biscuity, very dry hop taste. The overall taste was also somewhat on the flat side due to the low carbonation. Not a horrible czech beer, but I'm sure there are better

500ml bottle:

The beer poured clear, darker amber/golden color that produced a big, slightly off white head that faded quickly into thin cap. The beer gave off a nice lager aroma, sweet malt and yeast. The taste of the beer was malty sweet as well, but also had a syrup quality to it, which was very unexpected. This contributed to the lesser feel rating. With that said, the beer was still rather smooth. I really wanted to like this beer. Maybe it just didn't travel well or maybe it was old. I am willing to give this one another shot as I am really into the style.

A - Big bottle with gold foil around the bottle cap....always a classy touch. Pours a crystal clear gold with a huge fluffy white ice-cream head. Lots of honeycomb lace is left on the side of the glass.

S - Soft saltine cracker and salt aroma. Hard crusty baguettes and pizza dough.

T - Again, mild but crisp salty cracker and crust flavors. Saltier than most German pilseners that I've tried, and slightly less twangy too. Good firm cracker-like malts with crisp hops to balance it out. Very slightly metallic. Nicely done.

M - Medium bodied and slightly acidic. The low level of carbonation coupled with the salty but smooth flavor makes this "supple" to steal a word from the oenophiles.

D - Excellent, if a bit boring. I could drink a few more of these this spring. I'm not the biggest pils fan, but this is excellent.
