I got this bottle from my son in law who was in the tsech republic a few weeks ago. I have had a lot of beers from this country is the past years and this one is one of the better ones.

Poured in my Struise glass this beer is golden yellow with a big white head which stays quit long. Smell is ok, not very special, just normal.

Taste is for this style decent, you don't feel the low alcohol in this one, just a beer like the rest.

A - Transparent golden color. Head was nice but disappeared in less than a minute.

S - Barley and grassy. a little bit skunky.

T - Malty sweetness for a sec in the beginning. Bitter dominates as in average pilsner, but there is hopsy sour too.

M - Medium bodied. Average carbonation.

Bought a bottle in Prague a month ago. Overall this is a good beer but definitely it is far away from best Czech Pilsners such as Pilsner Urquell or Gambrinus.

Appearance: Golden-amber; slightly cloudy; big frothy head, long lasting

Aroma: Malty; grassy; citrusy

Taste: Juicy; slightly bitter on start and through to finish; nutty dryness throughout; finishes smooth, but then has slightly dry aftertaste; overall, not bad; refreshing

Remarks: Did not score A, T, S, M at that time; disregard those scores

The '10°' in Krušovice 10° represents the percent by weight of extract (sucrose) in the beer. But a 10 wouldn't be too far off a score for this appearance - it's a classic looking Czech Pilsner. Burnished golden in colour and perfectly clear in complexion, it's a poster boy for lagers everywhere, or would be if only it could sustain its head.

Three ingredients distinguish proper, authentic Czech-style pilsners: soft water, fragrant Saaz hops, and clean, high-quality malt. This grainy, lightly bready-sweet aroma definitely features the latter and disappointingly has little of the earthy, spicy hop variety that traditionally characterizes beers from this part of Europe. There's a bit of grassiness, but nowhere near enough.

The palate is likewise ruled by a generously bready maltiness and gentle sweetness. It's clean - without even a single trace of corn, adjunct or sugars - and makes a reasonably satisfying quaff on its own (but it would benefit greatly from a crisp and bitter finish otherwise afforded by the hops). While I'm left for want of spice and grass, at least I'm not stuck with any residual sweetness.

It's for this reason - the acceptable quality of the lager but it's lack of distinct hoppiness - that other craft drinkers, if they're anything like me, are likely to sit on the fence about it. A 'good but not great' kind of pilsner; far better than other mainstream offerings but still leagues below what most microbreweries now offer. The average Joe, however, won't find any reason to complain.

Czech pilsners, as a style in general, are so adept at quenching thirst you'd swear they were designed specifically to do so by some kind of team of beverage engineers. Most people would agree that it's one of the styles best suited for sweaty foreheads and dry palates. And Krušovice 10° was just the thing after a long day of work under a hot sun.

Brought back from Prague by my girlfriend Sara. Poured from a 0.5 L can into a pilsner glass.

a - Pours a transparent amber-golden color with one finger of fluffy white head and high carbonation evident.

s - Smells of wheat, bready malts, and grain. Kind of weak, not that great.

t - Tastes of bready malts, grain, and wheat again. Again, not great or much to it.

m - Light body and very high carbonation that stings the tongue. Way too carbonated.

d - A below average pilsner. Not much in the smell or taste and the high carbonation hurt it. Wouldn't seek out.
