A: Hazy pale yellow with a moderately thick white head of foam.

S: Faint traces of orange peel and coriander. Not overbearing, but sharp and distinct.

T: Fairly mellow wheat taste, but somewhat sweet and malty. Hint of hops and something fruity, as well as a spice I can't put my finger on. There's a strange flavor at the tail end of each gulp, but it's quite good.

M: Nice and clean, it washes the palette quite well. Low carbonation.

D: Pretty easy to drink, and it's quiet tasty. I found myself spending some time trying to figure out what exactly that flavor is at the end of each swallow. Nonetheless, quite a refreshing beer, and definitely worth trying (again and again).

Overall: I really liked the taste, as it's got a good balance between lightness and flavor. It manages to feel light, but still be moderately bodied while mixing in an unobtrusive citrus flavor.

Presentation: 11.7 oz brown bottle with no freshness date.

Appearance: Cloudy pale yellow (yeast was decanted also) with a spritzy white lace.

Smell: Mellow orange with some peel, mild coriander, a little lemon and some faint spiciness.

Taste: Lightly crisp in the light to medium body with a pleasing fruitiness of orange, coriander, hint of pineapple, and light lemon. A touch of herbal hop and a pinch of yeast add to the complexity. Soft malty sweetness and subdued grain come through at the end ... they dry and linger with a fading lemony flavour.

Notes: A very delightful palate of complex flavours, an ease to drink ... enjoy this fine creation.

Bottled (small) version, Fresh according to the best before info on the rear label, after allowing this one to warm up a bit (15 mins out of the frig) and a decent rolling on its side, the wit pours out cloudy light dull banana, initially under a large white, fine bubble head, that lookis like it wants to create some merangue, but then doesn't. Leaves some thick lacing, and the bubbles keep on rising. Nose wiff is softly of fresh fruits and candi sweetness. pretty typical wit notes, sweet, light fruits, "creamsicle" ice ceam pop memories come to mind. Slightly more watery then I would like in the mid section. Light peppery spice late, soft on the tongue and then a lingering mildly dry finish, with just a hint of hop dryness. Not bad, but nothing special IMHO, delicate, subtle, understated,oh so Belgian. Nice to try and compare to more robust American takes on the style.
Obviously the label art is a winner with me...

Serving glass: Poured from bottle into wine glass.

Appearance: Cloudy pale yellow with very bubbly thin white head that persists.

Smell: Dried out orange rinds, with some light wheat malt. One dimensional, but nice.

Taste: Orange is very dominant, and is sweeter than the smell. The bottle says sugar was added; seems unnecessary for a Witbier. The slightly sour wheat malts become a little more aggressive as it warms, but the coriander stays mostly hidden.

Feel: High carbonation, fairly light body, does not dry out as much as a great Witbier should.

Drinkability: Despite being too sweet and orange-like, it is still very refreshing and a nice Witbier overall.

On tap in Belgium this beer of course reminds you of a typical Belgian Wit. Light yellow with that unfiltered cloudy appearance. Aromas of wheat and definitely orange peel. Similar taste with the only distinguishing feature of this one is it is a little hoppier than most. I like the style but nothing exciting stands out with this brew.
