11.2oz bottle poured into a Palm snifter. This is by far the gushiest beer I've ever had. Literally the second I pop the cap, it explodes all over the table. Once I clean up the resulting mess, I get down to tasting.

A: Amber-colored body. Huge head, which isn't a surprise after the gush. It leaves good lacing even after it dies down.

S: A BMC-like pseudo-pilsnerish smell combined with some over-the-top sugary sweetness.

T: Not nearly as sweet as the aroma would lead to to believe. Not particularly tart either, though. Rather bland overall. There is a pretty strong earthy character kind of like a biere de garde.

M: As light as the style demands.

D: Rather boring and nondescript. It wouldn't be the end of the world if I had to drink it again, but I won't be seeking it out again.

S- Light barley/'beer smell'
L- Quite dark amber, slightly hazy, pours with fat 3cm white head that's veeery slowly reducing.
T- Some fruity notes, apple being quite a distinct one to me.
M- Has a fresh feel, clean on the palate.
O- First time I've had this and it's nice. That said there isn't anything that special about it that would motivate me to go and seek it out again. 33ml bottle, BB: 11/07/2019. Marked as 5.4%, which it tastes, and not the 6.7% in the 'Beer Info' below. Bought from the Wholefoods $upermarket in London UK for GBP2.19

Amber color with a huge mushroom fluffy head with eternal retention and leaving strong laces.
Light aroma with notes of herbal and floral hops, pineapple and bread.
Initially interesting flavor with notes of spices, lots of chalked yeast, pears, white grapes, herbal hops, green apples and grainy malt. Dry aftertaste.
Light body with appropriate carbonation.
Pleasant and assertive Saison, neither complex nor intense. It started very unique with some sort of toasted like notes and spices than faded away. Don’t expect any sour funkiness.

Color light yellow, slightly turbid.
Head white, good-sized, long stays in the glass, giving them a good build- up.
Very delicate aroma, palpable apricot, floral notes, grassy and probably the strongest flavor, honey.
Clearly taste sweet, honey, apricot palpable again. All of these, however, very delicate flavors. Gentian poor, dry, beer also slightly acidity, low saturation towards the middle.
In conclusion, I expected something more, and it is on average.

330ml bottle (BBE January 2016) poured into a Troubadour tulip glass

Look: Pours a dark yellow-amber - unlike other saisons I've had, this one poured fairly clear; not quite as 'murky' as some. Lots of 'loose' head which left behind some lacing.

Smell: Quite grainy - in fact, one could almost say that the grain smell dominate pretty much everything else. There's a faint whiff of fruit (mainly apple and something else I couldn't quite identify) but mainly it's grain.

Taste: Again, very grainy with a heaping mouthful of yeast into the bargain. The apple/fruitiness was barely there so you could be forgiven for thinking this was a bit one-dimensional. The fruit flavours are more evident once the beer has warmed up a bit.

Feel: Fizzy, for want of a better word - like some other saisons I've tried this seems to be fairly aggressively carbonated. Get past that, however, and it's quite smooth with a very dry finish.

Overall: I'm in two minds about this - one the one hand, taken on its own it's not a bad drink at all although the extreme fizziness could be offputting to some. On the other hand, it feels a bit mundane, one-dimensional almost. Not to say that it's bad - it isn't - but I suspect there are fare better saisons out there.
