On tap at the source. Everything is in balance. Nothing out of place. Not overly hoppy as most of today's new school pale ales seem to achieve. Nice flowery hop flavor with a very nice & balanced caramel malt backbone. One of the better classic Pale Ales I've had in a while staying true to style.

On tap at the brewpub. Clear, bright copper color. Piney hop aroma. The flavor has a nice caramel malt sweetness with flavorful hops and modest bitterness. The hops are pretty piney, as seems to be the case with all of their hoppy beers, but it is restrained and balanced well here. Light bodied and quite drinkable. They found a good balance in this one, and I would take it over the IPA.

A: Deep amber with a fluffy white head that sticks around and leaves a great lacing.

S: Sweet carmel malt is all I can make out. The hops don't come through at all.

T: It's on the sweeter/heavier side of the pale ale range. I perfer a bit more crispness and hop snap to my pales.

M: Nice amount of carbonation makes this one roll off the tounge smoothly, a good thing since the beer is a tad malty to me.

D: Good Session beer if a SNPA is too hoppy for you. A nice find while working in Tahoe this weekend.
