A- Dark brown, Medium lacing. Lacing is coffee colored.
S- Sweet and boozy!. Some dark chocolate and roasted dark fruits. Honey notes
T- The sweet chocolate and dark fruits come off in great proportions with the barrel. Nice sting to this one.
M- Nice amount of carb, a bit of a sting. Kinda creamy, but not too much.
O- A very nice BA stout here from Fifty Fifty.

Big pour gets you maybe half a finger of dark brown foam, not dense enough to last long, the larger bubbles cling to the glass walls, the lacing comes as big splotches, random and irregular, below average stickiness. Black liquid, not even worth commenting on, just black. Steady steamroller of a nose, for all its might not showy, thickly layered coconut custard, vanilla fudge, milk chocolate, caramel, toffee, not really boozy nor toasty, more like being in a cake eating contest, fig, date, apricot fruit, overall more smooth than complex, wears its weight well enough. Full-bodied, the carbonation adds sufficient fluffiness to puff up the attack and relieve some palate weight. A touch drier here than expected in terms of texture. More oak grained booziness but zero burn. Molasses, caramel, butterscotch, mix of both milk and dark chocolates, vanilla and coconut. After that is some tarry earth and breadiness, lifts when the floral aspect demurely asserts itself. Cherry, plum fruit equally mixed with apricot, banana, date fruit. Given its weight, releases well at the end and without truncating the finish. Leverages all it has, no desperation to impress, once more just lacks the subtleties to intrigue. (Blue Wax)

Bottle from trade. Thanks buddy! Blue wax, 2012 Bottle Run 3. Pours dark brown to black with some light shining through, and a small khaki to mocha colored head on top. Aroma of dark fruits, lots of char, oxidation, vanilla, oak, bourbon. Flavor is sweet caramel, char, oak, and a big long vanilla marshmallow finish. Big maltiness here with sweet caramel more reminiscent of a barrel aged old ale or barleywine. Really picked up the barrel nicely. Medium plus bodied with low plus carbonation. The finish is the highlight here. Pretty nice. Very smooth. Aroma taking away from overall.
