Appearance: Pale and clear gold capped by a thin head.
Smell: Green apple, pineapple, pear. The bourbon barrel character is warming, but not hot. There's a touch of vanilla and caramel.
Palate: Opens with a harmonious mix of caramel apple, pineapple, pear and vanilla. The body is medium-light, and sweetness is reigned-in. Finishes with citrus, oak and warming alcohol.
Overall: Really good. Similar to Allagash Curieux but much better.

I had this on-tap at Capone's during Philly beer week. Served in a 5 oz. snifter.
Appearance: Pours a cloudy golden color with hardly any head. The head that is there goes away rather quickly.
Smell: Sweet malt with some carmel and a hint of fruit. There is a tartness to this beer along with some warmth from the bourbon barrel aging.
Taste: This beer reminds me a lot of white wine. Sweet, fruity alcohol all the way through. There is a fruit tartness, not getting much Belgian spice. The finish is warm from the alcohol.
Mouthfeel: Medium body with tingly carbonation and a very dry finish.
Overall: This beer was very interesting. You could pick up the bourbon and the tripel qualities in the smell, but everything had blended together in the taste. I'm glad I got to try it.

First had: on tap at Capone's, Norristown, PA
Definitely something different from your typical tripel here. 50/50 of course known for their bourbon barrel stouts, has aged this tripel in an Elijah Craig (12 year) barrel.
Served in a mini-snifter, an impenetrably hazy golden-yellow color with a small, dense cap of white head that retained and laced surprisingly well (getting near the end of the keg maybe?). Aroma of bready malts, spicy yeast, pear, melon, light notes of bourbon. Taste of soft fruits, noted in the nose, pale bready malts, moderate sugar sweetness, with some pineapple and banana notes, floral hops. Where as the bourbon in stouts is pretty in-your-face, here it was more of a mellow afterthought that still blended surprisingly well with the other flavors at play. Loved the mouthfeel here, extremely smooth, medium-full body, higher alcohol is surprisingly well-hidden, as there's about no burn at all. Very enjoyable, though not a style I'm always in the mood for.

Aged in Elijah Craig 12yr whiskey barrels for 6 months.
(Nerd Note: ABV on fiftyfifty website says 11%, but 11.5% is written on the growler cap.)
Reviewed from a growler that my friends brought back from vacation. Served in a snifter.
Pours a hazy pale gold. A small white head forms and dissipates quickly to a razor-thin ring. Hints of thin lacing left in glass.
Some light Belgian funk and sourness in the aroma. Bready malt. Mild spiciness. Some sweet fruits. Bourbon sits in the background, but has a definite presence. I'm detecting some alcohol, but way in the background.
Flavor is really well blended and balanced. Soft fruity notes with sharper honey, whiskey, oak, and vanilla notes. Sweetness blooms in the middle. Finish has a hit of salt with a lingering mild sourness in the aftertaste. A tiny bit of alcohol comes out in the finish as well, but it is amazingly well buried given the strength. Great flavor.
Medium-full bodied with low carbonation, but since this is from a growler, I'm sure it's a little lower than the tap version.
I drink (and love) so many bourbon barrel aged stouts that it's great being able to try a different style given the same treatment, especially from FiftyFifty. It's also great having friends who bring growlers to you.
