Came in on a Saturday shortly after opening. It was already about half full, with dining inside and on the patio. With our group size we had to sit on the patio, which we'd probably have opted for anyway. There was ample umbrellas for shade so no issues with a hot patio at all. Overall feel is exactly what you'd expect from a brewery out in the touristy boonies. Stylish and rugged, neither too rough or polished.

I warmed up with a helles, and a few of their different pilsners before ending with their Cuvee and Malt Eclipse to round out the morning. The menu had solid range with lagers, IPAs, porters and big stouts all represented, with several other styles to boot. All the beers were well crafted and exactly what I'd expect from a world class brewery. Service and food were both solid, definitely not winning any culinary awards but good bar food is good bar food.

Overall this one is highly recommended. Good vibes and better beer.

Decent brewery tap, I had a flight of their beers + 1 pint, all beers were nice. Ample seating indoors and outdoors. Friendly staff, but to nitpick, the waiter / waitress could have been more attentive, as we were the only guests at lunchtime. No big deal though. Good food. Well worth a visit.

Located in a new but rustic mountain-hut-style development, FiftyFifty’s Truckee Pub is inviting and cozy. There is seating indoors and outdoors.
Indoors, there is a low divider between the dining area and small bar area, with the “pilot” brewery in view through glass beyond the bar.

The gastro pub food is excellent and welcome, and the menu is huge.

Unfortunately, the vibe is tipped toward dining rather than drinking, but it’s tough to get the British pub balance right.

There are about 15 FiftyFifty beers on tap, with nice variety, including an Eclipse variation and a Brewers’ Intent Specialty. Cans and bottles are available for takeaway.

Parking is available, but kind of scattered around the development.

Vibe: I stopped in around lunchtime on a Saturday afternoon. The place was quite busy, but seating was available both inside and outside.

Quality: Beers were served in glassware at the proper temperature.

Service: Our server was friendly and made it a point to check in on a regular basis to see how we were doing.

Selection: The brewery had about 15 beers on-tap as well as three barrel-aged beer selections, the latter of which were available as a flight on their own. They also had a menu of beers available to go, which included most of last year's Eclipse series.

Food: I had an elk burger for lunch and it was pretty tasty. My wife had the bourbon shrimp appetizer and it was big enough to serve as a lunch entree. All of the food appeared to be very high quality.

ive been wanting to check this place out for a really long time, being such a huge fan of eclipse and all. they have a beautiful little pub thats set back in a woodsy feeling little plaza with some businesses and restaurants, got a ski lodge aspen or vail sort of look from the outside, small and cozy and clean inside, quite humble for how far the eclipse has gone in the world really. mellow energy inside, relaxed as can be, small bar with the brewery in the back, and seating around the place, nothing overdone, but a up scale pub feel to it. they had a cool selection of beers, including an eclipse variant on tap, i didnt know they covered so much ground here, but they had some nice hoppy beers, of which i liked their capa and their brut the best, as well as a really solid dry hopped lager offering, a simple but well refined porter, and an absurd collection of bottles to go, eclipse editions i didnt even know existed, still expensive, but really thoughtful stuff here, i wish i could afford to try them all! its neat that they dont seem too focused on it, for all its acclaim, its just another beer in here, which is neat. none of the others really blew me away, but all were technically solid and very drinkable. service was attentive, folks were friendly, and time just flew by in here. the food coming out looked and smelled good too, but i did not eat at all. it was cool to see the origins of one of my favorite series of beers, and to see what these guys are all about. highly recommended. looking forward to my next visit here, i have a ton of respect for these guys!

Stopped here for a late lunch with Da Boss after visiting the nearby Donner State Park. I was famished after the park visit LOL!

Vibe was very cool, literally. Cooler inside than out yesterday. Very dark on the inside, maybe 2500-3000 square feet with seating for 50-75 maybe. Ample outdoor patio seating as well.

Quality of the beers were good. Da Boss had the Kolsch and i enjoyed sampling the barrel aged stuff. Other brews are rated so-so to good but did not try any.

Service was adequate. Jack was pleasant but not really interested in a couple of tourists, did not attempt to engage us and was not overly quick.

Selection was pretty good with approximately 15-20 beers available.

Food was solid. Da Boss had a salad with Salmon and i had the Turkey Melt with a side of the house beans.

Overall a pleasant visit, glad we came!

Great brew pub... ambience /vibe; people and food .
Terrible beer selection.
Mediocre house beers (except Totality); mediocre guest drafts... and NO ... again NO BARREL AGED beers.
Oh and website lists multiple BA selections.
Sorry... they kicked their BA keg... and this Fifty-Fifty?!!
I mean... why else come??
Come for nice place...nice people and very good food...
But call ahead if coming for beers that make them famous.

Sorry, I didn't try the food, I'm not to the point yet where I'll pay $9.00 for a bowl of chicken soup or $16.00 for a burger or $8.00 for onion rings. But, on the upside, the beers were worth trying. It's at least 2 miles further up the road than TomTom would want you to believe.

Super chill place, food was great. Bartender talked with us about beer forever it seemed like. Their beer has always been good stuff and the big fridge of Eclipse beers before you leave is awesome.

Love the barrel aged eclipse beers, but unless you go here for some special event, I'm not sure this is such a hot destination. The pub does have a pretty cool alpine vibe, with fairly dark colors inside, high ceilings and a nice fire place. The day I was here, I think they had around 11 of their own beers on tap, with a cider and a couple of guest beers (lagunitas IPA and trumer pils). Got the regular RIS (decent) and the cognac barrel aged BART (outstanding of course), plus also tried the golden ale (it is what it is). So my impression is that the beers are pretty decent here, but hardly mind blowing (other than the eclipse beers). Service was serviceable. The folks working here were pleasant in a TGIF or Applebee's kind of way. As for food, got the tortilla soup and I thought it was more than adequate.

If you're in the Truckee area, this is definitely a place worth visiting. I wouldn't go out of my way otherwise, unless you want to pick up some bottles of eclipse (they had a VERY nice selection the day I stopped by). That being said, both the beer and food are quite decent, so this is very much a good place to drop in for a brewski and a bite.

Been to all of their Eclipse release parties, they're about as well put together as it gets. Alicia is a force to be reckoned with. Someday I'll get up there outside of their release.

A nice drive into Truckee unless it is snowing. Has the silo outside, wooden exterior, total mountain vibe @ 7000'. Cool long bar. Sometimes people pass out in the bathrooms (Eclipse party).

A lot of variation in their hoppy beers. Everything barrel aged is excellent. Pricing is high, but hey, look at the real estate. Easily the best thing within reach of Northern Nevada. Ryepa, all the imperial stout variations, rockslide, landslide. These are all excellent and outstanding. If I may, I would say get the non barrel versions of their stouts, far less costly. I mean, its just not worth it from a cost benefit analysis, but then again, you gotta spoil yourself, so order some Eclipse if its on!

Always something different available there. Never the same old selection. Pizza is usually pretty decent. Nothing fabulous, but compliments the excellent beer. Some high end milf tail usually up in this place, sometimes as the servers. This is a great place to hit up after a good day on the slopes, or after the Truckee beer fest, or when coming home from the Bay Area. I can almost find a reason.

Its my favorite place within 200 miles of my home. St James coming close lately though.

Awesome place. Not far from south Lake Tahoe or Reno. Great beers, maybe 8-10 to choose from. No Eclipse while I was there, but they did have a great BA Barleywine on the barrel-aged tap. Sampled a few flights, ate some great wings and pizza for beer drinking. Grabbed a couple nice bottles to go. A great spot in one of the greatest regions on earth. I'll go back any time I'm close.

We stopped for dinner on our way to Reno. It's a small mall and may be a little hard to find (look for the Fifty Fifty water tank). Nice atmosphere with a mix of locals and travelers. For those interested in growlers, you can bring your own growler (2l only) and they will fill it and add a Fifty-Fifty sticker. Also, you can purchase bottles ($15-$30 dollars).

I will cover the food and service quickly as the reason to come is for the beer. We entered and was seated originally near the bar, but I asked to be seated in a different table (the hostess did comply). We ordered nachos (crispy chips and very good) and we both had sausage and pasta. Other than a little too much sauce on the pasta, we both enjoyed the food. Above average. Our server was friendly, but may have been a little slow for some people. No problem for me as I it gave me more time to enjoy my beer.

Ok. On to the beer. Fifty Fifty is known for their barrel aged beers (Eclipse), and if they were closer to a population center, they would be extremely popular. If you prefer IPA, sours, or amber, they make them and are good, but the stars are their darker beers and BA. I started off with a sampler of five beers (of your choosing):

Charlie Brown (Brown)
Darkslide IPA (Dark IPA)
Donner Party Porter (Porter)
BART (Strong Ale - mix of stout and barrleywine)
Cherry Annularity (Barleywine)

Best sampler ever. Amazing. I proceed at having two 8oz glasses of the Cherry Anularity and BART. OMG. Proceed to order a growler of the Donner Party Porter and a bottle of their Old Conundrum.

Must stop here for the beer. Really. You must...
