Yes it is a bit pricey but there are good reasons. You're paying for quality, pure and simple. The owner knows his stuff and goes out of his way to get the best and keep the selection as diverse and well-stocked as possible. He's also a fan of the IPA's as we are but he's quite knowledgable about all things beer.

Grape and Gourmet offers regular tastings and monthly store-wide discounts at their cheap and cheery events, which offer free snacks and additional tastings. They also maintain a twitter account that updates the newest releases and upcoming events.

In the Hampton Roads area, there is no comparison to Grape and Gourmet's quality and selection diversity. For everyday purchases, go to Wine Plus but for something special, give Grape and Gourmet a try. (768 characters)

Not near as big of a collection as what's been hyped up about online. Went into the store and looked scanned every beer with nothing really I'd say that was even a somewhat exciting find. (187 characters)

They have an awesome selection, they tell you what they have on the shelves and they're willing to hold a bottle or two so you can make it down there on your own time and not just get lucky. Love 'em! (201 characters)

Easily the best bottle shop in the Hampton Roads area. If it were a little closer to me, I'd be in there every week. Owners Kevin and Deb are very friendly and know their stuff. They are very responsive on social media with new arrivals and requests for holds. (260 characters)

I had just returned from a trip overseas and stopped in to see if I could find the beer I recently had while abroad. I decided to make a quick trip in and ask. Instead of getting a simple "Sorry we don't carry that selection try somewhere else." I got the snobby attitude that my beer of choice wasn't worth being carried. For that I won't ever go back. Sadly it was the owner that I got the attitude from. (413 characters)

Tried this place while on vacation. The people working there were extremely nice and went out of their way to get a 12 pack of the Sierra Nevada Beer Camp for me. (The tough beer to get of the moment)

They had a really nice selection of beer that you were allowed to buy in singles. The only very slight knock that I had was that the cold selection was extremely minimal but they more than made up for it in room temp selection.

I would highly recommend this place to any BAs in the area. (491 characters)

Fantastic bottle shop with a large assortment of styles and a great mix of regional, national and international brews. I'm from NC and hit this place on a recent vacation in VA, I picked up a handful of brews unavailable back home. They've got a very nice selection of Belgians. The customer service was top notch. Definitely a great bottle shop. (346 characters)
