Pours black with a mocha head. Excellent ground coffee and chocolate notes. On tap at Park Lane.
Really tasty, slightly sweet porter. Deep roasted malts, chocolate, and a hint of licorice. Earthy and smooth. Mouthfeel is round and soft. Medium-bodied.
Great example of a porter. Such a solid beer for their standard lineup. Alewerks is way under the radar in my opinion.

Half an inch of light tan head that collapses quite quickly. Very dark brown with garnet hues when put to the light. No visible carbonation and o.k lacing around the glass.
Strong chocolate, burnt sugar, and toffee from the get-go. Coffee tones become more apparent. Hop aroma isn't perceptible.
Very rich and smooth malt flavor- light roast coffee and cocoa powder, with a pleasant sweetness. Sugary aftertaste without any residual bitterness. Very agreeable.
Medium-full body with very low carbonation. No astringency or bitterness whatsoever, very smooth.
A delectable Porter. Like coffee with creamer. A brew for the winter or dessert by a fireplace.

Slightly bitter (English bitter like) and leaning chocolatey - solid interpretation of the style.

Not my cup of tea. Maybe the "colonial" style, but to me it has an aftertaste of ashtray.
