This Milk Stout is brewed with a generous amount of Guatemala Antigua coffee. There's a noticeably sweet character but we don't shy away from the coffee's bitter nature. It's the coffee drinker's coffee stout.

Drinking one that I've had tucked back for 5 years as an experiment. Has held up okay, with muted aroma and taste of vanilla, coffee, oak, baking spices and a gentle sweetness. Very little carbonation or head, some sediment. Drink this one fresh or tuck back for a year or two.

If I didn’t read the label I would have just thought it was a nice milk stout. Barely any of the coffee flavor that I expected

It's as close to black as any dark brown can get. Two brown twelve ounce bottles have been emptied into a clear glass liter mug for display. On top of the liquid is a modest and enduring khaki head. The smell of roasted coffee is very enticing. It smells as if a can of roasted ground coffee was just opened for the first time. That roasted black coffee character extends into the taste, but not as poignantly. Perhaps the milk stout medium takes a little of that edge off. Still, there's plenty of coffee to taste and the milk inclusion doesn't keep this from tasting more like black coffee than anything creamy. Unlike some in the category, there's no stickiness at the finish. It finishes toward the light side. If anything could improve this, it would be by adding just a little more body to the mouthfeel. Definitely, this is for coffee lovers.

From a bottle, pours as opaque black with a frothy khaki colored head. The aroma is pretty modest but like dark roast coffee grounds. Malt-forward with mostly coffee but also chocolate flavors the back-end has milky-lactose sweetness. I love coffee and milk stouts, so this was a natural. But, overall, this one is "thinner" and more watery than some. Check out a Founders Breakfast Stout ... you can thank me later.

Poured a pitch black with a nice tan foam head that quickly recedes to leave a nice lace. Scent is roasted malts, a bit of sweetness, and a delightfully coffee-like coffee scent. Taste is well rounded, with malty sweetness and coffee bitterness interplaying nicely. The milk stout component also comes across nicely. Feel is medium bodied and smooth with a nicely balanced coffee aftertaste. Overall a superb pour that comes in nicely at 5.4% that you won't regret having a glass or two of.

Grabbed a bottle while at Alewerks LAB Taproom.
Very nice coffee stout. Not used to milk stout with coffee, but this worked very well. Good choice in coffee and roasters, well made brew.

12oz bottle into a snifter
Look: Pours a deep opaque black, with no light penetration/lightening at the edges whatsoever. A tan, velvety head with good retention leaves behind some fine, spotty lacing.
Smell: Roast malt, light chocolate, roast coffee bean, and that milk stout sweetness.
Taste: Follows the nose but more robust. The roasted malt, toffee, and coffee bean all roll up into a delicious, complex roasty/toasty delight offset by lighter notes of sweet chocolate and lactose sweetness.
Feel: A smooth, soft, medium-to-full bodied beer with low carbonation.
Overall: A delicious beer. Incredibly well balanced with coffee and roast malt bitterness and faint chocolate and lactose sweetness.

Good coffee stout. Always purchase when in season. Slightly bitter aftertaste makes it enjoyable. Recommend this for those that enjoy a strong black coffee.

Excellent beer. A good coffee aftertaste, which is not overpowering. Very easy to drink. As a beer, it comes together very well.

Poured from a bottle into a glass.
Overall, a great coffee stout with great flavor.
Looks super dark. Thin medium drown head. Smells of coffee grounds, dark roasted malts, tobacco, and charred coals. Taste is robust at first, but trails a bit as you swallow. Fairly low carb mouthfeel and fairly smooth. Really good and easy to drink.
