A - Poured a dark opaque black in color, topped by a half finger tan head. Some minor spotty lacing left behind.
S - Dark malt, sweet chocolate and that lactose smell you would expect from this style of brew. A very mild coffee bean aroma provides an accent to all the rest, but you almost have to strain to get it.
T & M - The chocolate is more noticeable than I would have guessed if I had just judged from the aroma. The coffee provides a slight accent but it's overtaken by the sweetness of the lactose. It's an interesting combination actually. Creamy, medium bodied mouthfeel...almost oily.
D - A very drinkable brew, the first I've had from this brewery. Solid, and worth a try.
