A: Dark black in the glass, and a small dark tan head that quickly dissipates.

S: Rich coffee, and dark chocolate. Slight oak and a touch of licorice.

T: Coffee and chocolate, although there is a slight sharp flavor in the finish. Not nearly as rich as I would have wanted, but there the coffee notes are nice.

M: Medium, but the carbonation is a little high making it feel a lot lighter. In general I with the mouthfeel was creamer, or more smooth.

O: Overall a pretty good beer, but I don't think that is has the chew or richness I really want in the style.

12 oz bottle, poured into a pint glass.

Appearance: Pours a beautiful, completely opaque, pitch-black color with a quarter of a finger of caramel-colored head that completely dissolved away into nothing.

Aroma: Very aromatic! Tons of roasted malt, coffee, caramel, and dark chocolate. There’s a touch of creamy lactose as well, but the aromas are mainly malt and coffee.

Taste: Very nice!! Tons of roasted malt up front, followed immediately by massive coffee flavor (but thankfully without that horrible coffee-like bitterness). I also get some lactose, caramel and brown sugar-like sweetness.

Mouthfeel: Slightly chewy and very, very creamy, as there is no carbonation what-so-ever. With an ABV of 5.4%, there is no alcohol present on the palate.

Overall: This is a good beer!! It has great flavors of malt and coffee, nicely balanced with some good sweetness. Very nice!

Strong taste of fresh roasted coffee served best at room temperature. Wonderful expresso aftertaste.

Pours a deep chocolate color with minimal head and lacing. Aroma is nice with hints of coffee and bittersweet chocolate. Taste is slightly milder than I anticipated, with tastes of lightly roasted coffee and some chocolate. Mouthfeel is slightly thin and watery which I have found a lot in milk stouts. Overall, a nicely flavored beer with the good creaminess and mouthful of a milk stout..

A: Pours an opaque yet still clear jet black in color with light to moderate amounts of gentle visible carbonation along the edges of the glass and hints of dark cola brown highlights. The beer has a half finger tall sudsy foamy dark tan head that reduces to a large patch of medium thick film surrounded by a thin film covering the majority of the remainder of the surface of the beer and a medium thick ring at the edges of the glass. Light to moderate amounts of lacing are observed.

S: Moderate aromas of freshly roasted coffee with light to moderate aromas of dark chocolate and fudge.

T: Upfront there is a light to moderate flavor of roasted malts with moderate flavors of freshly brewed coffee. That is followed by moderate flavors of dark chocolate and a touch of milk chocolate with only minimal amounts of sweetness. Light to moderate amounts of lingering bitterness in the finish.

M: Medium bodied with slightly heavier than moderate amounts of carbonation. Slightly thin for the style.

O: Very easy to drink and it has a low enough ABV to be just about sessionable. I really enjoy coffee beers and this one did not disappoint. Definitely glad that I found it and got the opportunity to try it - and will gladly get it again in the future.
