12 oz bottle into a pint glass
A: Pours a very respectable 1 1/2 finger head. Perfectly clear with a really nice amber-brown color. Orange/ochre tones. Spotty lace.
S: Clovey, sweet malt. A little alcohol and a bready aroma.
T: Caramel, coffee, cocoa, raspberry...wow! This is a big brown ale with little downside. Alcohol is ever-present.
M: For the style, nearly perfect. Richness is balanced by carbonation level. Nice viscosity & texture.
D: Awesome. Could session in nearly any circumstance.

Dark cola color, basically clear besides a few little chunks. Smell is mostly English hops with dark malts hiding in the background. Tastes tart and bitter with a backing of fruit.. almost tastes spoiled it is so bitter. Thumbs down

My good friend and old neighbor from the 'Wego gave me a bottle of this beer. It poured a dark amber with off white head that is leaving some lace. The scent had very nice dark malt with pumpernickel bread highlights. The taste was nicely balanced and easy to drink with dark bread malt base and subtle molasses highlights. The mouthfeel was medium in body and had good carbonation. Overall it is a solid beer.

From old, undated notes; had this on draft.
Dark brown color; clear.
Nice off-white head; spotty lacing.
Strong nut & chocolate notes in the nose. Nice!
Medium thin mouthfeel.
Nutty chocolate flavor as well. A home run.
