I am in town doing the bart and beer tour. This thing is really cool. If in town try it. no driving and lots of beer. oh yeah alright beer so far.
color- Cherry Red This thing is bright red as it goes.
Taste- fruity in flavor with a bite.
there is some hops that makes it a little interesting. I was surprised that it so hoppy. it weighs in at 6.5% the bartender told me. he was very informed on his beers and made my Sun. pleasurable.
All and all this beer would not make my prime-time list or even my repeat this beer list but that doesn't mean it's not good. i am just not that hoppy of a fan. Surprise for a red....

Redspot is a somewhat deceiving name as this is a pronouncedly dark brew, but there are hints of golden amber that give it a nice finish. Head poured clumpy but quickly dissipated into a pencil-thin lace that stuck around for a good while.
The beer has a moderate hop odor, but few other scents come through.
The flavor is a bit more complex than the scent, although only a bit. Mostly what you get is hops, but it's subdued by a decent malt character.
Mouthfeel is less viscous than I would have liked. Washed limply over the tongue with a mild alcohol burn.
Despite everything, Redspot does go down pretty easy, which might explain why it is the signature beer of a pub located in a college town.

A- Pours a pretty vivid ruby/copper color. Had about a half-finger of fluffy off-white head.
S- Floral hops with a bit of pine, lots of toasted, biscuity/grainy malts. Smells pretty tasty.
T- A pretty balanced blend of toasted malts and floral hop bitterness, a bit of caramel malt sweetness.
M- Medium bodied, moderate carbonation, feel is smooth and dry.
O- Another solid, way drinkable beer from Jupiter. Definitely give this one a try.

The Redspot was an excellent choice on tap at Jupiter. The beer poured a deep red with a medium white head on top of it. It smelled of roasted malt and some spice/sugar. The taste was exceptionally smooth and deep and the malt has to be the best malt Jupiter offers. Recommended if you're in Berkeley, try the IPA and then the Redspot.

A: A dark red/copper color, more than what I would expect from a a red ale. Not much of a head.
S: Smells pretty good, with some hints of toasted malts.
T: It has some good maltyness to it, but also a bit of hoppyness that I wasn't expecting. Nonetheless, it makes for a pretty good drink that's a bit bitter and a bit sweet.
M: Nice and dry. Just the right thickness.
D: Pretty easy to drink, as nothing about it is offensive.

A- Poured a dark copper-red/brown, somewhere between an IPA and an amber. No head, just a small trace of a halo. No lacing, no nothing. Fine body, no head.
S- Great nose, especially after a good swirl. Bitter hoppiness, quite floral, toasty, biscuity, some sweetness. Smelled quite good. There was a fine balance between the floral/bitter hops and the toasted malts. It had the standards of an amber, only one better.
T- Initially it hits with biscuit/toast, quickly getting stripped bare by the bitter hops, and glides into a toasted sweetness with some caramel/toffee flavors.
M- Warm, slightly dry, a nice crisp hop/malt bitterness. A good, residual mouthfeel both bitter and sweet.
D- A pretty good beer. If you're ever at Jupiter, this and the pizza with yukon gold potatoes and bacon make for a nice afternoon.
