A: pours a dark amber with ample head and good lace
S: musty piney hop scent as well as Copenhagen juice...kinda weird
T: slight malt up front with a big time piney hop bite. The hops aren't the freshest ever. Also tastes kinda sweet...like hop extract was added.
M: medium to full bodied beer
D: this is a different ipa to be sure. I don't think it's the freshest. Reminds me of that frankenlou beer from silverton though this is prob better. Not sure if ill be able to drink it all though.

Another review from the shooting pile of 2014.
Has a auburn/copper color pour straight out of the ibu wars. 1/3" white head on it. The aroma is equally malty and hoppy, plenty of copper tones (badum) and caramel waves of grain.
The taste is also those copper tones and caramel waves, but with ample amount of C hop fortified pine and grapefruit. Its sticky and malty alongside a slight woody presence to it. Chewy shit. One upside of this beer is it was routinely available for $4-5 per bomber. The malt quantity is more reminiscent of a double ipa. Another one of those earthy malty ipas with a high alpha acid like bitterness and old school hop flavors. If you like the taste of pennies draped in caramel, pine trees and grapefruit, well this is your jam!
Its a low cost of entry, so for that reason alone, I wouldn't discourage anyone from checking it out once, but I don't foresee myself booking a return trip.

Bottle from the brewery. Leafer Madness's funky little sister. Deep copper pour with substantial fluffy head. Aroma is citrus and pine, sharp hoppiness. Taste is also resinous, mildly tangy, hints of grapefruit. Finishes fast. Tasty stuff.

Poured a hazy copper from a 22oz bottle into an Imperial pint glass, with one of the thickest heads I have ever seen. Seriously, it was like meringue on a pie. It took 15 minutes for it to dissipate and it left great lacing on the glass. The aroma was sweet, resinous, and wonderfully citrus. It was my favorite thing about the beer. This is a very enjoyable IPA, although nothing else jumps out at you. I think that is a good thing. I will definitely pick up another pounder when I see one.

Cloudy amber with three fingers of dense off white head. Amazing head retention and lacings.
After the initial pour I had to go outside for 15 minutes or so. When I came back there was still a good one finger of head!
Smell is floral a bit of pine and some light grains.
Taste is bitter pine resinous hops with an above average malt base for the style. Some tropical fruit and pink grapefruit but not very prominent.
Mouthfeel was more full than most IPAs and carbonation seemed low. Made for easy drinking but no spice of pepper on the tongue. Medium dry slight leather bitterness in the finish.
Overall an exceptional appearance and a bit down on the other points. Could be old or not so well kept. No date on the bottle. Would like to try a fresher version.
Says unfiltered and bottle conditioned. Second pour I timed the head retention at 12 minutes.

Appearance. Pours a rich gold-orange with 3 fingers of off-white head that leaves some patchy lacing.
Smell. Grainy malts and caramel, tropical fruits and floral hops with a little citrus and cedar.
Taste. Sweet grainy malts, tropical fruits and floral hops, some oranges and grapefruit with a little bit of bitter citrus rind in the finish.
Mouthfeel. Medium body with below medium smooth carbonation.
Overall. A decent ipa with good balance.
