Appearance: Light copper. Poured with a nice frothy head, lacy retention. Very clear.

Aroma: Caramel sweetness, with a bit of sharp hop aroma. The smell is very pleasant. The hopping style doesn't appear to be citrusy. It's leaning toward vegital.

Taste: Nutty sweetness up front. The finish is quick, and the bitter from the hops is slight but sharp. The beer seems very balanced. This is a very balanced pale ale, leaning towards an english style.

Notes: A good session style pale ale, from a nice local brewery. This beer is easy to find in the middle of North Carolina, and could serve as a staple for many beer lovers fridges.

Had this at the brewery today, poured a lighter clear golden with a nice fluffy white head on top, aromas were very muted some toasted grain maybe a light herbalness but quite faint.Pretty basic pale ale more malt tilted in my opinin toasted malt and a touch of caramel sweetness finishing with a faint herbal hop.Quite quaffable but a little run of the mill and basic.

Poured from a 12oz brown bottle with a freshness date on the bottom ridge.
Light gold to brassy color, no visible carbonation wiht zero head. This beer
is a very bland IPA with very uninteresting and nearly nonpresent hop characteristics. There
is a distinct skunkiness to this beer. The brew is undercarbonated and very thin, bordering upon watery. I cannot come up with much comliment for this beer save for the mission statement printed on the bottle, which creates inspiration unfulfilled by this particular product.

Poured from a 12 oz. bottle into a pint glass.

A: Clear and bright gold in color, light white foamy head with great lacing.

S: Notes of citrus, grain, malt, some light hops, and a hint of something bready/yeasty in nature.

T: Light to medium maltiness with a great flavor from the grain. There is a slight earthiness, presumably from hops. The flavors are well balanced with a slight hop bitterness on the finish.

M&D: Body comes in on the lighter side of medium with moderate carbonation. Mellow drinking with an interesting slight edge to it, but still smooth. Good session beer.

Bright amber/gold with a white hed. Aroma of malt and faint citric hops.

Wow, do these go down easy. Not a vast amount of flavor - a clean, slightly sweet maltiness with a decent balancing bitterness, slightly husky, with some citric/earthy hops apparent in the background that grow with the sip. Mouthfeel is decnt, maybe slightly thin. Very, very drinkable - this is Carolina lawn mowing beer at its finest.

This pale ale is in the moderate range for the style, just a bit darker than medium yellow. A good-sized clean white head is fluffy and has some density, so it holds up well. After a time, what it's settled to is a hefty foam that leaves steady, even, and thick patches of lacing in plenty on the sides of the glass.
Overall, this beer is fairly unambitious; as a result, it's also uninteresting. It's pretty standard, middle-of-the-road stuff. A light dose of floral hops, some caramel malts, and a note of grains underneath are the essence of it, with a mildly herbal note soaking into the finish. It's certainly easy drinking.
There's a good smoothness that's almost creamy in a body on the light side of medium. Crispness is there, but it needs a little more to keep it up the entire session.

Pours a dark gold with a thin lacing of head. The nose is grassy with faint malt notes. The taste is faint malt followed by a floral, citrusy hop character. The mouthfeel is light to medium bodied and crisp; at times a little thin.

Overall this is not a bad beer. It's sessionable and has just enough hop character to keep me interested. Most local places around here carry it on tap, and in a pinch it's a go-to.

Appearance: Pale yellow, poured with a decent head.

Aroma: Overall pleasing, slight citrus with good hop aroma

Taste: Faint hop bitterness that finishes quick. Very mild and very smooth but not long on flavor.

Overall: This is a very drinkable brew that may be good on a hot summer day. Nothing too complex, overall okay but nothing I would rush back to. Try their IPA for a better offering from this brewer.

Picked up a single bottle at Chip's Wine and Beer in Kill Devil Hills. Pours a clear amber with a very short head and faint aroma of fresh bread and orange peel. This beer basically tastes a toned-down Sierra Nevada. The citrus and pine hop notes are mellow and smooth instead of crisp and biting. That's not necessarily a bad thing, but this pale ale just isn't flavorful as most. Still, this is a fine session beer.

12 oz bottle into a pint glass.

Pours a crystal clear gold, with a foamy ½ finger of bright-white head. This retains with a fairly thin and fizzy look, which leaves some light spotty foam behind. The aroma is floral, with some earthy citrus and a touch of dry spice being present. Light toasted sweetness adds some malty presence in the back of the nostrils.

The taste is sweet with malts and light fruit, being balanced by a green and spicy hop bite. Finishes dry and earthy feeling. The mouthfeel is lighter-medium bodied. This has a mostly smooth creaminess going on with it but there's a bit of a prickle running through it as well. Feels a little light for almost 6%.

Eh, kind of fairly average Pale Ale selection here that lacked presence in the nose and on the palate. I've give this another shot if I saw it on draft but this was mostly forgettable after I finished with the glass.

Served in a bottle at the Chapel Hill Schulas - only local on the menu, need to get them some taps too.

Pours a light to medium amber, good color, some white foam. Mostly resides out, little lacing.

Mildly malty smell, buried fruitiness.

Lighter APA, well blended taste, lower intensity hop for balance. Good carbonation. Very drinkable.

Overall good beer.

Poured from a 12 oz bottle to a pint glass the liquid is orange gold and lacks carbonation. The head is small an d restrained, just a pad off white and leaves little lace.

The smell is nice earthy hops with a bit of fruit.

The taste is about th same with a nuttiness in the finish.

The mouthfeel is a tad off but not flat the carbonation is ok at best and the body is good at medium.

The drinklability is ok. Not a bad beer not worth hunting down. MK

Thanks Skeeordye

A- a nice yellow/orange/mahogany color that is quite clear. No head at all though.

S- a huge punch of biscuit malts strikes the nose. Smells like dough kneaded with malt vinegar.

T- taste mimics the nose. Nothing to extraordinary to note.

M- bready and malty. a tinge of sourness coats the mouth but it is inviting somewhat.

D- a nice beer to have once and awhile and not too bad. Kind of reminds me of yuengling lager.

Picked one up on a fall trip to NC. Drove all over to a place in Raleigh that looks like a gas station, but has as good a beer selection as anywhere I have ever seen. Imagin how many times I drove around it.

Pours golden, with slow carbonation and a head that disappeared to nothing quickly. It smells a bit harsh, not quite right, and doesn't taste quite right. Faintly hoppy, with an even fainter malt profile. Not really much to it, I must admit to a bit of dissapointment. An easy sipper, but not much else.

Poured from the bottle into a tumbler.

A basic but very nice orange amber colored body. Head though just doesn't seem to form at all off the pour, there is nothing but a simple off white collar though that still remains throughout drinking. Fairly clear, some good simple rising carbonation, but kind of a weak looking brew.

Hints of buttery diacetyl, but a good bread sense with some mild pine like hops.

That buttery sensation seems to carry forth though and just a simple mild pine hop on the finish. Mouthfeel is quite pleasant and good, just enough body to be interesting and no prickly sense of gaseous carbonation.

Overall this is fine but nothing memorable or one that jumps out at me distinctly that I'd want to have again. I would certainly drink it over many other beers that's for sure.

Pours a darkened gold color with a short lasting creamy head that settles to a loose, bubbly cap. A quick swirl brings back its creamy nature - moderate lacing. Mild aromas of softly sweet malts and earthy hops - a faint veggie-ness lurks beneath. Grainy malt flavor - hops are floral, raw, and earthy. All the CBC brews I've tried seem to have a really fresh barley quality to them and this is no exception. Solid, clean bitterness and a medium-light mouthfeel.

This is a pretty standard session beer. Much closer to an English style pale ale.
