The pour is a deep golden color with a nice eggshell head that retains OK. The aroma is intriguing with a nice turbinado sugar sweetness upfront, as well as some bready malt, and a green apple fruitiness that is not to style but certainly isn't unpleasant. The flavor is nice and complex, with notes of turbinado sugar, baked bread, and some dried fruit along with a spicy noble hoppiness that balances out the sweetness. The mouthfeel is on the lighter side and the drinkability is excellent despite the somewhat high ABV. A very good maibock, probably the best I've had.

A - Copper/amber color. Clear. Little head with not much retention or lacing

S - A fruity sweet smell is what I first notice. Undertones are more complex, corn malts, a toffee smell, some piney hops scents.

T - Sweet up front, reminds me of apple or berry flavors. Then turns to some heavier toffee flavors. Then the hops come through, not strong but enough of a hit to really notice them. The finish goes back to some of the upfront sweet flavors. Better as it warms a little, the complexity becomes more noticeable.

M - Very good carbonation levels. Not too light but still very refreshing.

This is a change from my usual go to styles, but it caught my attention and I decided to give it a try. While definitely on the sweet side for me, this is a pretty damn good beer. A lot going on here, nicely layered flavors, and something that I feel could be enjoyed and appreciated by many. While I don't think this will become a go to for me due to the sweetness, I would buy it again.

On tap at Sawmill Tap Room 4/28/12

A - Pours a pale amber with no head but has some faint white remnants

S - strawberries, pie crust, rhubarb, caramel

T - cake, fruit, strawberries, pie, grassy hops in the finish

M - medium bodied, a little thin at times, lightly carbonated, smooth

This has an odd characteristic to it. The strawberry notes are not at all what I would expect from a Maibock. There was no description at the bar so I don't know if this is what the brewers where aiming for or not. Overall, it was drinkable but forgettable.

Thanks to warriorsoul for the chance to try this one.

A-Pour is a slightly hazy amber gold with a very thin white head.

S-Malty with some corny sweetness.

T-Sweet corn, creamy and malty. More cream ale than maibock to me.

M-Medium bodied, rather slick and sweet.

O-Glad to try this one but not a fan.
