In preparation for my trip to Prague in a little over a week, I grabbed a few Czech beers that distribute here to make sure I don't have to try them in Prague, and get my Czech lager taste buds primed.
Pours a nice fluffy 1.5 finger head that fades at a med pace, spots of lacing, crystal clear golden tan color.
Nose is malty slightly sweet, almost syrupy, light fermented straw, bit husky, grainy, doughy, very light fruity lager character, faint grassy hop, slightly vegetal.
Taste stats with sweet malt character, light toasty pilsner and fermented straw, bit doughy and grainy, taste slightly like unhappy lager like the lager was fermented too quickly. Some grassy hops, mild bitterness, fruity lager flavours, little bit if a skunk taste. Finish brings more grassy fair bitter hops, bit sticky sweet, bit more skunk and pilsner malts, light crisp fruity lager too.
Mouth is lighter bod, pretty good carb.
Overall meh, not bad but a bit lacking in overall flavours and bit of an unhappy lager character. Not as good as the last Czech beer I just had, and probably one of their macro style breweries I'll probably avoid when I get there.

Poured from a brown 16.9 oz. bottle. Has a golden color with a 1 inch head. Smell is of grains, even a touch skunky. Taste is crisp, refreshing, grains, malts, some bitterness at the finish. Feels medium bodied in the mouth and overall is an enjoyable beer.

A: The beer is clear yellow in color and has a light amount of visible carbonation. It poured with a finger high bright white head that died down, leaving a thin head covering the surface, a collar around the edge, and some lacing down the sides of the glass.
S: Light aromas of skunk are present in the nose.
T: Similar to the smell, the taste is a little skunky and has slight bits of bready malts along with hints of bitterness.
M: It feels light-bodied on the palate and has a moderate amount of carbonation.
O: The green bottle doesn't appear to do justice to this beer as it imparted aromas and flavors of skunk.

Small head that settles in a lumpy fashion and stays throughout the tasting. Little lace (some spots). Straw gold color with a whitish haze.
Good clean aroma of grainy, pale malts--perhaps a bit more raw, unmalted barley smell than most. Little bitterness.
Think a blend of "real" Czech Pilsner and a macro. It's thin and highly carbonated. Lots of raw grain on the initial taste. Good hop presence that wasn't noticeable in the smell. Short aftertaste, though. This is decent and easily drinkable beer.

Platinum blonde with loose snowy foam.
Flinty grain sack and lots of wild grass hops, maybe a bit floral.
Toasted baguette, a bit of butter and must, then grass and coriander seed hops.
Creakery finish and long nettley linger.
Lt, dry, a bit thin.
Crisp and drinkable lager, but where there should be a clean hop hit there's actually a vegetal thing that goes on far too long and gets a bit sour.
Fine for hot weather, but expect better from Czech.

Pours a clear gold with a foamy off-white head that settles to a partial film on top of the beer. Foamy swaths of lace form around the glass on the drink down. Smell is of malt, grain, grassy, and skunky aromas that fade over time. Taste is much the same with grain and grassy flavors on the finish. There is a very mild amount of hop bitterness on the palate with each sip. This beer has a lower level of carbonation with a slightly crisp mouthfeel. Overall, this is an above average beer that is easy to drink and not half bad after the skunk smell dissipates.

Beer bottle (33 cl.), tasted in 2011.
Appearance : golden color with white foamy head.
Smell : sweet with notes of malt.
Taste and mouthfeel : malty, leading to a dry bitter and slightly hoppy finish.
Drinkability : an average beer in the style Czech Pilsener.

A: After I pour it hard the white foamy (almost as feather-light whipped cream) head is massive, but rather quickly turns uneven and quite soapy. Nice lacings though.
The color is clear golden.
S: Neat and clean; crisp malt, semi-sweet. Then there is noble hops, floral but also bitter. Citric and grassy.
T: Bready malt, somewhat sweet. Grassy and faint buttery. Noble hops, more bitter than floral. A metallic vibe in the back.
M: Body is on the thinner side, while carbonation is quite rich. Aftertaste is long and lovely bitter.
O: With a little more malt this would probably be a much nicer beer; richer and more full in both flavour and body. Still nice, though.
