Not sure why I am reviewing this - other than that I have some in my fridge from the recent visit of a friend who likes to play mindless drinking games and there are only five other reviews - so what the hell. Color is a clear, pale yellow, some foamy head but no staying power. Honestly, it smells like crap. Most macro lagers, light or otherwise do, but still I hate the smell of macro lager. Taste is pretty decent, actually; crisp and clean, light bodied, nothing terribly offensive. $10 a case - can't beat that.

Appears a very pale golden highly carbonated bubbles rush to settle after a vigorous pour white head forms dwindling quickly leaves uneven specks of lacing down my pint. Aroma light sweetness cooked veggie tones carbonated water mineral character wispy herbal hop gasp. I'm liking the bottleneck saying purity, consistency, and tradition all important but nothing to due with the taste of Lionshead Light deluxe pilsner...light trickling sweetness comparable to any other big brewers go with a light beer this one however has some light malt sweetness, cooked veggie notes, mineral water character pretty clean with a lingering grainy Wilkes Barre Lion brewery flow low hop bitterness pretty clean herbal hop touch. Mouthfeel is carbonated water texture very light with bitey turbid carbonation kinda rough on the back of the throat. Drinkability another one of those value beers with character definitely drink this over BMC anyday but for a good beer it's light lager, not much to this one.

As far as light beers go, Lionshead Light offers great value. It's got more flavor than many others with a nice grainy maltiness. It pours an attractive golden body with a nice white head that holds pretty well and leaves some minor lace at the outset of the glass. The aroma is generic "beer", but that's to be expected. It's light bodied and crisp; and nicely balanced with a firm, underlying bitterness and some mild background hops. It's far from the best beer that the Lion makes, but it's nicely done and the price cannot be beat!

This is not something you drink by yourself or even for "pleasure." I recently purchased a keg for a party I was having involving guests of less than discriminating taste (ie. me and some college friends). This beer pours a hazy yellow as usual and looks like your typical American macro. The smells reveals little, though the taste offers it's advantages. It definitely lacks that stinging sweet nastiness of other college brews like natural light or keystone. Imagine virtually any other dime a dozen light beer except less offensive and with somewhat more going on. The effects the morning after are also much better. I think it's even better than coors light, miller lite, and bud light and of is about half the price ($52 for a 1/2 keg) Goes down like water of course.

In summation, definitely pick it over the big 3 light beers for parties or other sessioning situations, but stay away from it under all other pretenses.

Poured from 12oz bottle.

A- This is a very light and watery looking pale yellow color. Not as pale as other light beers but a couple shades darker. One and a half finger white head comes and goes rather quickly. No lacing on the glass at all.

S- Big sweetness to this one in the nose. Grainy smelling along with light bready notes. Nothing special but a little more than your average BMC product. A light hop forward smell in the back end also teases you as it gets lost in the sea of sweetness.

T- This of course is muted more so than than just the regular Lionshead Pilsner. The sweetness in the aroma comes throughout the entire beer with this one. Sickly sweet grainy character comes and goes through the entire beer. Light bready notes under this one. Light grassy taste midway through the sip. Light crispness from light hopping at the tail end.

M- Light mouthfeel. Carbonation is good for style but a little too much for me. Crisp and clean tasting in the mouth. Sweet adjunct taste left on the palate and in the aftertaste. Very watery feeling as well while in the mouth...and fizzy.

D- This is a very drinkable beer that I had no problem putting away. Good beer to drink over BMC if given the choice. Nothing special but then again it is nothing too terrible as well.

Poured from a brown 12 oz. bottle. Has a light golden color with a 1/2 inch head. Smell is of corn and malts. Taste is crisp, rather mild, a slight bitterness at the finish. Feels light in the mouth and is very drinkable. Overall this is not the worst light beer I have had, but nothing special.

A - Slightly less than a fingers worthy of fizzy white head quickly fades leaving a very modest minimal lacing in the center of the glass... Loads of large bubbled carbonation both rises through out rapidly and clings to the sides of the glass... The carbonation forcefully bursts through the surface... The color is that of pale straw...

S - Slightly more multidimensional than your standard light lager... In addition to the expected corn presence is a slightly floral bouquet and touches of refined perfume... A hint of mandarin oranges and even some slight hoppy undertones...

T - Loads of bready malts... Loads of corn and cereal like grains... A very slight caramel component... Lemon zest... Fairly bland, but far from off-putting...

M - On the light side of medium bodied... A touch of creaminess... A touch of fizziness... Sturdy enough to keep it interesting... Sleek and smooth...

D - A very drinkable and surprisingly refreshing light lager... Not sure this would ever be my first choice, but this is a cheap session brew that has its place in my standard rotation... At roughly $15 per case, the value is undeniable... A great summer or mid-afternoon brew... I was pleasantly surprised...

Yes, for $10 a case of bottles and the puzzles on the bottom of the caps. It's a fun beer to drink.
Taste is better than the big brews and close to other PA brewery beers. Good when company is coming over and your serving food.
All in all hard to pass up when you stop into the distributor.
It's not the best beer out there, but what do you want for, did I say $10?

When trying this beer I poured from a cold bottle into a chilled glass. Lion Head Light is an under appreciated beer coming in at roughly $13 per case.

You get a light amber color which is crystal clear and typical of light Ales. The aroma reminds you of movie theater popcorn, which can be good or bad, depends on what you like.

Coming in at 3.9% ABV, this is a respectable number, considering the price. Taste is quite powerful for a "light" ale and can be quite pleasing to your pallet. Although the only taste you get is of hops and that "hint" of popcorn, this beer does not suffer from the watered down effect that most light beers fall under

Overall I like this beer alot and I appreciate what it does for the price

And as an added bonus if the games you are playing suck you can always solve the riddles provided on the bottle cap.

This one is getting it’s price worked into the rating against my better judgment. For a 24 pack of bottles, $11 for this caliber of beer is nothing short of amazing.

Looks a bit bland as a washed out gold with a hint of dirty brown and orange. the head was a lively white froth that fell to a collar.

Smells of dried out sweet corn, and a bready yeast that reminds me of a college party house basement. There’s also a snap of something dry and hop-like.

Tastes of corn bread and a touch of dry mushrooms that spikes in hop intensity midway through, but then falls to a musky, sticky baking yeast that makes me think I just ate a slice of tasty bread.

The mouth feel is light to medium bodied with a light tingly carbonation. This also seems a little on the sticky side.

So, if I put my pen down and just take a good pull on this one, I’m a happy man. This is a very easy to drink beer. Although what I say about the flavor is a little disparaging, the best part is, is that it has a firm, clearly stated flavor that is far from offensive. Again, at $11 a case, this one’s magnificent.

A: Golden with a fizzy white head that disappears quickly. Better color than most lights.

S: Like every other light beer, strange sweet maltiness, pathetic muted hop. Hint of cooked veggies.

T: Clean, almost nothing. Muted hop, very crisp.

M: Big carbonation, crisp, watery.

O: Run of the mill light.

Pointless beer, essentially a Lionshead but more subdued in every area. Being that the regular Lionshead is a fine cheap lager which is better than it's expensive alternatives I would (grudgingly) recommend this to those who are trying to get light beer drinkers to look at more craft like beer. Still, I think its pointless, life is too short to drink light beer.

Appearance-hazy golden, minimal head.

Smell-subdued tone of grains

Taste-watery but fresh, like any light beer, it doesn't taste like crap which is a plus but that I suppose is because it is tasteless.

Mouthfeel- Goes down smooth and light, like it isn't even there.

Drinkability-Could definitely throw a few of these back on a hot day, but then again I could do that with a regular Lionshead as well.

12oz can poured into pint glass.
Color is a clear and light yellow/gold with a nice fizzy head and alot of bubbles. Looks like a typical light pale lager. Smells of corn, cooked vegetables and bubblegum. Tastes of corn and some sweet malts. Very little hop presence. The tastes vanishes immediatly, leaving a clean finish. Mouthfeel is fluid with moderate carbonation. Pretty good for the style and at $12.99 for a case of cans, it's tough to beat.

16oz can into kolsch glass.

Not bad. Nice golden yellow dusk color.

Smells like Beer.

Nice mellow beer flavor. Muted frosted flakes with a faint hint of hop. Alcoholic dollar store apple juice maybe.

Like flat seltzer water. Just a bit of fizz.

Easy to drink and not offensive. Much better than any mass light beer. Cheap too.

Served in a can at This Little Piggy Likes Roastbeef in New York, NY

A: Pours a deep golden yellow in color with moderate amounts of visible carbonation. The beer has about a finger tall fizzy white head that reduces to small patch of very thin film near the center of the beer.

S: The beer has aromas of bready malts with just a hint of corn adjunct along with some light notes of floral and grassy hops.

T: Light to moderate flavors of bready malts with some notes of corn as well. There is a light bitterness which does not linger contributed from the hops and just a touch of citrus rind.

M: Just slightly heavier than light bodied with moderate amounts of carbonation. Slightly thin/watery.

O: Super easy to drink and a definite session beer. Refreshing and pairs very well with lots of meaty sandwiches - probably would be great for a cook out.
